Got a couple scores. Hope to improve on 'em though.

Aquas - 1,349,220 - Stage 1-6 - Type 2
Aquas - 1,267,310 - Stage 1-6 - Type 3

Stupid slime. Stupid mistakes.

Yay, I finally held onto my lives this time and made it past the stage-6 boss rush, all the way to the end of stage 7 with the gravity boss. Friggin' announcer said "What the hell!?" when I game over'd... I couldn't believe it. LOL!

Aquas - 1,895,480 - Stage 1-7 - Type 3

I doubt this'll move me up, but an improvement's an improvement.
bsidwell - 1,234,930 - Stage 1-5 - Edit
I've been practicing Blaster Cannon Core, but obviously not enough :(
I think he's the first boss that's genuinely difficult instead of just being pattern memorization.

Finally after years of torment and tauting from Gradius V... I've finally 1cced the game.

final score 2,470,600
difficulty: Normal
last level: 2-1
weapon edit
all other settings set to default

I went into 1-7 with one ship and somehow managed to get through that awful level without dying. Then I died right away on the start of the 2nd loop because I started to play it like I always play it and that will end your game pretty quick :D

YEEEES!

Took me 30 WHOLE hours according to my game clock to do my 1cc! Heh, a few things may have helped me accomplish it. My buddy was here to witness the event, the volume was down on the TV and I've the equivalent of one shot of jack daniels mixed with a vanilla frappacino. I'm so happy! And proud... and this is only like my 4th 1cc, but the only one that matters, in my eyes. (The other 1cc's I've got were on easy as pie games.)

Stage 8 kinda freaked me out, I went into it with 2 ships remaining though. So the pressure wasn't on a whole lot. YEAH! YEAH!

Presenting....

Aquas - 2,203,590 - Stage 2-1 - Type 3

Haha, yup, I can actually top that  I probably should have used the Stage Select a little more, in hindsight.

bsidwell - 1,509,500 - 1-6 - Edit
Died four times against Blaster Cannon Core. :( I've managed to defeat him with only one death in practice several times, but I can never seem to perform when the pressure is on in a real run.
I did manage to get past the slime, though. Final cause of death was a misjudged attempt to squeeze past the first set of small Cores in the backwards-scrolling section. I usually never die there... oh, well.

Wes- 2,268,740 - Stage 2-2 - Weapon Edit

This was the most random run ever. I don't think I've played this game in months, yet I managed to make it to the second loop only the second time ever. At least this time I didn't lose all five of my lives on the first level in the second loop. Instead I lost all my lives in the second level. :)

The picture is a little blurry.

Ruldra - 2,240,320 - 2-1 - Weapon Edit

This run was merely my 1cc attempt. Lost many scoring opportunities for the sake of survival (like the walker at the end of st07).

Next time I'll play for score, but since I'm working on DOJ right now, that won't happen anytime soon.

EDIT: Proofpic

Eh... I was hoping to get past stage 1 on the second loop. But I died twice against the boss. Boo!

Aquas - 3,945,300 - 2-7 - Type 3

I'm very proud of this score. I practiced 2-5 a lot as that was my main concern for advancing in the second loop. And I'm pretty sure I no-miss'd Stage 5 in the second loop, how dem apples taste?!

I got up to Keeper Core in Stage 7, but up to that point was where I hadn't practiced a whole bunch. I also had to practice the 2-3 Ground Spider boss a lot to make sure I beat him before he shot rockets at me at the bottom of the stage. I barely got him as I went face to face with him, within his legs, as he shot about 3 rockets which I deftly avoided, and he then shot 2 post-death rockets away from my direction. Sucker!! Same kinda thing happened fighting the Blaster Cannon Core in the 2nd loop: I was letting 'em have it after he was done spraying his garbage at me, and I barely defeated him as he was letting out the first second of his second garbage spray. I came out with my shield depleted, and very relieved.

Now I need to figure out how in hell I'm gonna beat that 2-7 Keeper Core with Type 3... I really don't know if there's any trick to doing it with Type 3 except for being very skilled. o_O

Wooooo! :D

Testament to how good practice mode is: my game clock is at 59 hours. It took me 8 hours of practice, no runs inbetween my last highscore and this one, till I decided I was ready for a new run.

Hahahahahah, it's been a long time since I posted any scores...this one is definitely my best, after juggling a few different memory saves.

Kenchan - 1,806,400 - 1-7 - Weapon Edit

First run to Stage 7, also great run of Stage 6. Died twice at the end of boss rush due to jitters, and completely flunked Stage 7, probably due to pressure being on (rediculously bad for the practice I put into it). Happened to record this run as well, was mainly only really trying to test out my new DVD Recorder.
