Unfortunately there is no trick to this boss. Here is one survive capture.

I have one advice to you: the most annoying attack in this boss is the double four spike, in any situation try do like in picture this is what I do in replay.

What version you are playing?

EDITED TO 3-2 BOSS CAPTURE:
:) Well I really avoid play this game because I fall in love very fast.
Here is one capture to boss 3-2 using Hyuga:

This capture demonstrate the importance of forth Shikigami ball. Is very important use it if you aim for high score. I just figured your score is very high to 4-2. Are you milking any boss?

Cool!

Thanks for those links, I'll check them out shortly :)

I'm playing the PS2 version (Japanese version, not Mobile Light Force  )

Well I didn't think my score was that high yet, the only main boss that I'm really milking is the first one (1-3). I can destroy most of her drones at x8, on a good day I can score around 130 million on 1-3, it is my highest scoring stage. On the 2-3 boss I normally just take his energy down low as fast as I can and then get some x8 kills from the drones he releases when he's nearly dead. I normally just kill the 3-3 boss as fast as I can as I find him quite tricky. And of course I try to destroy all the mid-bosses and their parts at high tension as best I can.

I beat the score I already posted yesterday ........ by a measly 4 million :| . I should have something more substantial soon I hope.

If you aim for high score in this game you need adopt the strategy called bit hunter, this is kill all very fast and reach in boss 5-1 with lots of spare time. I two weeks when I return to my work and you are still playing I will upload the Hyuga run over 4 billions (very beautiful).
Now I am returning to this game I need complete my Shikigami run collection with one high score Kuga run.

My last few runs, no good. But, I will clear this. Biggest problem, 4-3 boss, the spider and skull hell of 5-1. 5-2 boss is my all time favorite boss, so I can take it. Need to play for survival!

Biggest problem, 4-3 boss
I my opinion stage 4-3 is very hard. In boss 4-3 you need avoid the white balls pattern, then you need shoot this boss a lot.
the spider and skull hell of 5-1. 5-2 boss is my all time favorite boss, so I can take it. Need to play for survival!
I just can say you have one good taste. I will try upload the Kin run too when I return to my work.

Managed to scrape just past half a billion

Hyoga

Mero / 8336 / x5 / 4-3 / 500,958,400 / Class B

I'm not sure if I'll be able to go much further in this game, 4-3 is incredibly hard in places and the boss is tough as well. I played 4-3 about twenty times in practice mode and the best I could do was to finish the level on my last life :(

Re: Shikigami no Shiro 8,336

Post by third_strike »

This is one reality, 4-3 is the proper hell, but boss is not this hard. And you use the normal attack to do your way easier. Remember your mission is reach in 5-2 boss. There you can get full lives and bombs again. Sorry but I only will can upload the replay when I return to my work. But I will try do one boss 4-3 capture later.
How I said before I am playing this game again and 4-3 is giving me lots of troubles. Until now I got 3,4 billions, no sure about how much I can do, because the PS2 joystick is one shit and is holding me back in 5-2 boss.

I do well in 4-3 when I move left to right, focusing on the planes as they come out, trying not to run into the smaller guys. When then planes come out near the top, focus on the smaller enemies.

My chances of beating the 5-2 boss are somewhere between very slim and zero, I haven't even come close to beating it in practice mode yet :(

Very nice, Mero!
This boss is doable, approach it like it's a stage.
Focus on taking out all the "mouths", I usually bomb the first one in the very middle, then do a little damage to the boss. When the stage drifts left, I jump on the next two mouths. You're biggest dissadvantange here is not being able to focus your bomb on one spot. I'll bomb the lower one, then try to carry it through to the top one. The bottom mouth on the abdomen, just dodge the attacks untill it breaks, then jump on it, sitting there with your shikigami to take out all the spiders. You should be able to get another bomb or two here. Just be careful of the lasers coming from the right. Take out the next two mouths, their lasers seem easy to dodge. Then it's just a couple of minutes of pretty standard dodging.
Alot of people seem to fear this boss. It's my personal all time favorite, so maybe it's a mental thing that I don't have much problem with it.
Does anybody know it's name?
You're so close to a huge clear! Stick with it, you keep pushing past what you had already thought was your limit!

5-2 again, you are ready!
I will start at encode of runs now, and if alright I will upload it after tomorrow.
Good luck to you.

Edited:
Got encode the runs today.
Hyuga - 4,1 billion
Kin - 4,6 billion
The archives get small and with good quality. Only two small problem left:
- The screen is not rotated.
- Each run was split in 3 parts.
You can solve this problem using VirtualDub.

Watched the replay, Damn. Third Strike your dodging is very good. There is definately a few tricks I can learn from watching it a few more times. You take down a couple bosses quicker than I do.
The 5-1 boss milk might be doable for me, I usually just sit in between the lasers and use the 8x red shot to kill her. You do very well at scraping for the 8x. I play alot safer.
I have some practicing to do.
VERY COOL!

Well, you seems like Hyuga and you have a replay, then try it. The easy one to 1cc is Kuga btw.
The password to rar file is : pst3rds
Please just don't put this replay out here because I had not the pass of owner to do this replay.
Ask me about the gameplay strategy in replay and I will reply.
Thanks!
