I don't remember much names but there are 4 difficulties, easiest is most upper one, hardest one is most down, choose the third one to score on, but you may use the major the highest difficulty

Major's the default difficulty, which was the second easiest difficulty. from easiest to hardest (Captain, Major, Colonel, General), you were playing on Colonel the entire time?

For PC
Vorpal - 2,063,420 - 1-8 - Colonel - 1P

Lost two lives in 1-7... thought that was the last level. Don't think I even seen 1-8 before, I got slaughtered by the horde of battleships when the red diamond comes out :-P

Raiden II
Mills scored something like 9,362,530 Loop 3-7 in the arcade tonight.
Not for actual score submission until Uncle CHI posts the pics he took. He will post them on Sunday.
Mills' best Raiden score to date is 10mil+
His best Raiden DX score is 18mil+

Regs,

DEL

Mills, I have a few questions if you don't mind.

In a serious run, do you go for any of the 1-ups? Also, someone on the MARP forum said that the red ship has a big advantage. How exactly is the red ship better?

I'm curious too, I always thought the blue ship had the advantage of the cluster bombs being faster at bullet-cancelling.

OH mills? That's not a surprise then, that guy could get a 17 mil or 21 mil score on Raiden DX without problems, kudos to him.

I was quite surprised to see that Mills can still do the do on Raiden II and DX, its been so long. But I guess that age cannot wither him nor custom stale his infinite scoring potential.

No advantage with the red or blue ship in Raiden2 only with RaidenDx. i normally use the blue ship for the cluster bomb but the 2-player joystick and buttons are basically f**ked and not been repaired for months. When im going for a highscore run on the first loop, i lose two lives at the start of the game by colliding with the 1st on screen enemy fighter leaving the 2 colour icons on screen (sometimes i get Missile icon with 2 coloured icons), and then colliding again with the first power up ship. start of 2nd stage i have full power red shot weapon after shooting down the 1st power up ship. 3rd stage i get the bonus 1-UP and last the boss out by destroying all side turrets and then start waiting for the enemy fghters to come down. 4th stage last the boss out. 5th stage play safe, 6th stage i get the bonus 1-UP. remaining stages just play safe including 2 and 3 loop.

A small improvement. Playstation version on Colonel difficulty, as usual.

Does anyone know how to consistently get the 1-up in level six?
