Hey, trying to get a good run on G Darius now too, keep on getting hit once right at the end, in this run I got hit when you have nothing captured and have to dodge while the embryon pulls at you. :(

Smraedis - 26,782,270 - Silver Hawk - alA/gaE/epI/thO/nuY (ALL) - PS2

Run is recorded, I've also no missed a couple of times, but scored less than this.

First try since trying to play TwinBee Yahhoo...

Smraedis - 28,818,160 - Iron Hawk - alA/gaE/epI/thO/nuY (ALL) - PS2

Wow, it took me long enough to get a good no miss score... but I was expecting this to take up most of the week free from the STGT ^_^
I'm not too sure if I can improve on this, I did almost everything right this time (apart from extra milking the end boss..)

Yep, I recorded this one too.

PS2 and PSX should be separated. PSX version is much easier.

Do the arcade scores use autofire, or just the standard tapping speed? Would autofire even help?

autofire helps immensley especially when deflecting lazers, its a right pain to do manually on my PCB to be honest :?

The PC version looks and plays great for this, my first run on the PC version. I missed the extend in kappa zone and died twice on the final boss, otherwise great run.

Thought I had posted this already a long time ago, guess not. Then again, I would have expected more scores here. This game really is a new experience at PS2/arcade speed.

Thanks to Zach Keene for your oldschool FAQ and running this board and everything else! Also thanks to Smraedis, your route and video were great help!

T4N3 - 45.173.110 - Silver Hawk - αA-γE-ζL-κS-οV (ALL) - PSX

Routed in about two big weeks, spent a lot of time savestating, eventually got my clear after grinding a few runs on stream.

Finally got the nomiss. I could've got 27m at least in a better run. I score a little bit off great thing but there's no way I'd let it loop.

inp file for mame plus extended 0.164:

Not nearly as interesting as the guy above, tho  .

Well obviously this is way lower than my Omi score, but cleared Lambda on stream (Even though I goofed around saveloading some idiotic thing on the first boss twice for shits, forgive me.)

Err I died after the first beam on Coronatus, oops. Had to end abruptly with 2 cab balls left because with the tiny shot this can go south preeeetty quickly with the destructible bullets.
28Mil is totally happening soon

T4N3 - 26.168.070 - Silver Hawk - αA-βC-δG-ηM-λU (ALL) - PSX

copy-paster - 22,351,570 - Gold Condor - αA-γE-εI-θO-νY (ALL) - PSX (ePSXe)

Score could be higher, of course. Died once by Dimension Diver and milk The Embryon's head 2 times, instead of 3.

How about a bump with a new score?

It will give us some time to warm up the thread as we wait for the new Cozmic Collection to release.

I got my first 1cc of G-Darius last night, and lo and behold it was a no-miss too! I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Arcade

EmperorIng - Iron Hawk - 20,392,500 - αA-γE-εI-ιQ-ξX' (ALL) - PSX

A lot of this route was experimenting and trying to find the easiest way to the end - that somehow took me lower and lower down the path. Remembering which stage paths had easier patterns was pretty tough (keeping it together while dodging and waiting for the timer to expire is hectic, lol). Something that threw me off was that even though bosses have different attack patterns per stage routes, what those attacks are sometimes chosen randomly from a set - a number of runs recently had me die to attacks I had not anticipated or prepared for, seeing them the first time!

I thought it would be crucial to find the hidden 1up (the only extend!) as many of my runs died right as the boss was winding down. In Zone Iota (Glacier), the hidden 1up is at the bottom of the vertical shaft, right before you see the hermit crab midboss, on the left side. The wall will cut back with a little piece sticking out that you can hit if you have multi missiles equipped. Otherwise the rest of the game has fake 1up and powerups that hide dangerous anglerfish enemies that have killed me more than a few times!

Anyhow, I thought it would be important to grab it, but I ended up doing this run with no deaths, anyway! I was shocked and wasn't expecting it. It helped that to dodge Accordion Hazard's laser beams (the two parallel from his eyes) -which had killed me several times before- I in a panic detonated my midboss (Hard Armament) which gave a looong explosion which granted me enough invulnerability to survive the laser blasts and move out of the trap.

Congratulations! I remember you said that G-Darius were one of your clear wishlist long time ago. Zone Xi as your first clear is impressive, given Accordion Hazard is no easy task to beat. I have yet to catch Heavy Arms Shell and G.T, the former ate all my three lives in my number of runs few months ago, hard game.
