I suppose I could split the tables... is it just the PS version that needs to be separated or are there significant differences among the Saturn, PS2, and STV versions? (I'd assume the SS and STV wouldn't be very different.)

How come you guys scores higher than me, without reaching Statge 5?! :?

Anyway, a few more runs would probaby get me over 3,xxx,xxx mark. :o

Fuck the hatas this game is fun

Twiddle - 3,667,700 - 5-5 - PSX

I can confirm the no looping thing with the PS version.

Dunno about the ranking system differences/etc. It would be safe to seperate them as the PS version has a very obvious scoring disadvantage thanks to the lack of a second loop.

Something really wired happend to me, suddenly it came a Power up that changed colour all the time, when I took it it appeard A LOT OF Power ups and S and all the things you can get in a big thing that looked like a big V all over the screen! I got so nerveus that I actually died pretty soon, have any of you experienced this?

Yes! Exactly the same thing has happened to me! (including the getting nervous and dying part ;) )

I have never been able to get that to happen again, and I have no idea what the criteria are for doing so. It happened in the beginning of stage 3.

I think this game has many secrets.

If you see enough powerups (don't know the exact number, but it works like Raiden's max power icon), eventually the red/blue flashing P (which is the ARMOR/MAX POWER pickup) will appear. If you pick it up while you already have armor and max power, a circle of powerups will bounce around the screen to be collected for score.

Unless, this is a different flashing P.

Decided to take a swing at this game today and ended up playing for several hours...

iatneH - 3,489,080 - 1-4-6 - PS2

I probably could do better, but my ST-V cart freezes at the 2nd boss destruction, and I can't change the button config on the PS2 version, so I just whiff and die when I try to bomb... the bomb button on my ST-V setup is mapped to nothing on my PS2 setup!

Messing around with this game for the first time... its fun. Lots of slowdown though...

Carmen - 3,491,410 - 5-4 - PSX

Expect higher, better scores soon... I need to start figuring out what those icons actually do.

By the way, what is the name of the (Japanese, I assume) PS2 release? Was it an unlockable in another game? I think I'd like to track it down....

Was competing (and losing) with IGH last year with this one.

My best score was 6,188,200 (stage 7-2) but, alas I no longer have the phone evidence.

Just acquired the Japanese PSX version and dear Lord it's fast!

More people should play this game!

Good luck DBH87, hope you make it. I've been meaning to play this again but it's always hard to return to games I haven't touched for months. Credit fed this once to see the end boss - he badass!

I just got back to this game again on the Saturn. Reached stage 6 for the first time ever today, I think I finally figured out how to control rank.

By looking at the boards, it seems that the Saturn version loops and the PS1 doesn't.
Is that it?
Which one is closer to the original?

14-5 is equivalent to 2-6-5, right?
