Updated. Normal has been cut-off at 50, although I will keep a text file of all scores submitted.

Good job on the clear of Special, Kaiser.

Decided to give this another go today.

Normal Course
Momijitsuki - 5,421,390 - Flame Viper [C] - Stage 6

What's the correct extend interval anyway? I've been playing with one every 2mil, but I was wondering if it may be every 1 mil since that's how Garegga's is... Just wondering.

every 2,000,000 is correct

btw there's a typo, so it's 200K instead of 2000K like it should be

Thanks guys, i'm trying to go for an advanced ALL right now. BUT BTW don't expect me to rack up a whooping score on that one. Everyone who says score is most important thing can go fuck themselves because that mindset always ruins fun for me. I prefer to learn to clear the game consistently then think about scoring.

For any other game I would probably agree with you, but considering how different this game gets when you go for a score that seems kind of pointless.

Not that pointless. Once you learn to beat difficult fragments on low/medium rank and 1cc the game, you can score on and pick on higher rank as well. Same rule was with batrider.

Nice job Kaiser. Its about time someone focused on these goals other than just score. Now finding the right low-rank strategy for an Advanced ALL is going to be interesting, given the longer you live the higher the rank.

I've been thinking of doing an Advanced ALL with a rather good score sometime soon, it has been quite a while since I played this. Been putting most of my MAME time into Batrider and failing some.

I almost did a high scoring Boss Only mode ALL, though I died right at the end. :(

Well, plasmo is helping me find the right strategy. The best i've come up yet with him is that I would leech some points off axebeak (can't do 10 mil though) and suicide to last life, play from there like that until stage 6 then not suicide until the ALL.

Congrats on the special course clear, Kaiser.

While scoring does change your strategy pretty drastically, an advance ALL is impressive regardless of score. When you don't score, extends are few and far between and the rank increase for survival and chaining gets pretty nasty after a bit. Plus, without the extends+suicides and bomb regeneration, the bosses would get real, real tough. That's balls.
Feedback will set you free.

Well. I can get up to last boss without bigger problems purely on survival but whenever I chain, the rank goes VERY nuts on me, worse than I play on survival. Still working on it but it will take a bit of patience to beat it. Same with Brave Blade, last boss is just UGH there.

I know this won't bode well, what with that 'elitist pricks' [not so much elitism here, mainly prick] topic in OT but... are you fucked man?

I update when I feel like it and the key word here is that I do update period. There are only two new scores since I last updated so don't get your panties in a bunch. Maybe you should try posting a score before whinning.

By the way, updated...

Let me say one word, I came, I delivered and I kicked ass! TO be serious, I practiced for 3 months, over 60 hours of playtime however it paid off. Don't bitch about the score, it could be improved but it didn't need to be. I wanted to finish this game because well.... I planned to do it since I was starting out in general. It's a long story however i'm giving big thanks to rgb, m3tallica, plasmo and destructor for supporting me in my crazy ass actions/runs. I gotta mention third_strike as well, that guy partially gave me the right idea on how to play rough games. Also thanks. Now, i'm off. I'm done with this game. Everyone enjoy the game.

Before you bitch guys, I used default settings, the new default romset (mame replay was made in wolf135 iirc) which apparently is no different than old one except extends are given to you instead of them being picked up. So still, default settings, 1 coin only play, Stage edit enabled (mentioned).

Replay was confirmed legit on MARP fyi. Here's the youtube version:

Be aware that videos may be either inactive or in low quality due encoding so wait up.
