120 million is certainly an obtainable arcade mode score (for reference, the score on the INH DVD was 166 million). Although, many other threads have started requiring a snapshot to confirm the score for the top spot.

I guess I should start playing this again soon.

Hi,
I'm playing Rajirugi GeneriC on a jp Gamecube.
The reason why my Manpuku score looks so inflated is because the score multiplier goes all the way up to 256x as opposed to 16x in Arcade Mode.
My scores are pretty decent but they don't compare to the Japanese top scores.
Kiken wrote:I guess I should start playing this again soon.
Cool. I hope someone beats my score cause I'm not that satisfied with it. I messed up on a lot of great scoring opportunities. I know I can get to the 140 mil range in Arcade & 1.5 bil range in Manpuku if I keep practicing.

Arcade Mode: 121,620,610pts.

Manpuku Mode: 1,370,422,600pts.

Also check out the top scores from the Japanese Internet Ranking tournament that Milestone held a couple years back.
The 171 mil with the bubble shot is amazing! I wish their was a replay for that.

I'm sure there are some subtle scoring differences between the 3 home ports, what they are exactly I am unsure. Given I was able to score some 20 million higher in my PS2 version versus my DC version, with an almost identical run, I'm assuming there are slight differences in the scoring system.

Likewise, the GC version is apparently somewhat easier to score in than even the PS2 version (no offence maxmultiplier). Therefore, I have separated the GC table from the DC one to avoid any arguments.

To be completely honest I'm almost positive that my own 5th place score is actually from the PS2 version, though I will have to fire it up to double-check. A larger sample of scores for all 3 versions would be nice, but then it doesn't look like that'll happen any time soon, if ever. Likely any future scores will be culled from the upcoming Wii edition.

PS - maxmultiplier, could you provide Shot Type, Stage, Speed and Item % for your submitted scores? It's not a big deal, just so people can compare there own efforts. Cheers! Nice scores btw :D

I agree with you to a point. Each version has different amounts of slowdown which can affect scoring.

Good Idea.

I wish more people would give this game a chance. The scoring system makes this game so addictive.

Great idea. Only a couple of weeks away for the release of Karous Wii! I got my copy preorderd. Hopefully Milestone will include Online Leaderboards.

Sure, look at my above post.

The PS2 version doesn't have Manpuku Mode.
GeneriC and PreciouS have their own exclusive modes.

Rajirugi GeneriC:
Manpuku Mode - multiplier goes up to x256

Rajirugi PreciouS:
Okawari mode - different bullet patterns and higher difficulty.

Both GC & PS have Score Attack Mode.

Manpuku mode is by far funner then Arcade mode.
Trying to keep your multiplier at x256 throughout an entire stage adds an extra challenge to the game.

Yeah, I think you are right. I tried a quick run in both versions (PS2/DC) with similar results in the earlier levels. Only in the latter, slowdown plagued levels, does the score start to differ noticeably.

The PS2 has some serious slowdown in later levels which is, in comparison, slight in the DC version. In addition, Okawari mode is viciously difficult compared to Arcade mode. If anything, the Score Attack mode is 'worth it' more than Okawari.

Overall a pretty good run.
I did make two huge mistakes that cost me a lot of points.
The beginning of stage 3 was my first big screw up. I didn't get my multiplier to x256 till almost half way through the stage.

My second huge screw up was on the first form of the Last Boss. I completely choked. My multiplier was quite low the entire time I was fighting him and ended up killing him with my multiplier at x64. I guess I just was nervous.
I did make up for it on his Second Form. I did ok and killed him at x256.

If I have a near perfect run, 1.6 billion would very much be possible.

I decided to keep playing the GC version instead of the Wii version simply because of the awesomeness that is Manpuku Mode.
Too bad Milestone blew it by not including it in the Wii version.

I think it might be time to retire this game. I kinda have a desire to play another shooter.

Radirgy is a good game with a unique look, kick ass soundtrack, and an addictive scoring system.
Don't let all the negative reviews keep from trying this game out. It might not be as hard or memorable compared to a Cave shooter but it's still worth checking out.

See ya...

I'm pretty close to maxing out my skill for this game. I'm not too sure how much more I can improve.

I did manage to beat the 2nd place score for Manpuku Mode on Milestone's Internet Ranking homepage by almost 70 million points.

1st place is 1.62 billion points.
I would need a pretty amazing run with very little mistakes if I'm gonna beat that score.

What you have achieved so far is fantastic. It would be great if you could snatch that 1st place. Good stuff :)

Scores fixed. I overwrote the Arcade score with your Manpuku score. It should be ok now

Yay! :D

After many months of playing this game exclusively, I managed to beat the 1st place score for Manpuku mode on Milestone's Internet Ranking site by over 9 million points.
Finally Learning how to milk the the Last Boss through the entire battle while keeping my multiplier at x256 most of the time helped me rack in the points needed to put me over the top.

Unfortunately I dont have any capturing equipment cause it would of been nice to share this run with all of you.

I still have the desire to continue playing Radirgy GeneriC and I know I can still improve on my score but it might be a good time to retire it and move on to another shooter. It'll be sad to leave this great game considering the many hours I put into it, but it might be for the best.

Bye-Bye. :)

Fantastic score!!
You're VERY close to the world record! In case you didn't know, it's:

TZW-ART - 123 Laser – 99% - 1.707.612.480

Keep going, it's definitely in reach for you! Good luck! :)

 :o :D NEW WORLD RECORD :D :o

Gai-jin Power!!!!
Wow. What a huge accomplishment this is. The many hundreds of hours I put in finally paid off. To be able to beat the Insanity DVD score done by TZW-ART? & set a new WR is pretty amazing. This proves that gai-jin can compete with the Japanese in this type of genre.

This was the best run I had yet. Everthing went so smoothly.
I did make a couple of mental mistakes at the very end of the battle with the last boss. When the second form of the last boss had about 1/3 energy left, I started to get really nervous and my whole body began to shake. Luckily I was able to fight off some of the nerves and continue on my way.
The biggest mistake I made was right before I killed the last boss. I started to look up at my score & began doing math calculations to see if I was on pace to beat the WR. This distraction caused my multiplier to dip to x128 for a short while which cost me a decent amount of points but I regained my composure and finished the fight like a champ.

I would like to thank gavin19, clp, & Plasmo for the nice compliments they've given me. It gave me extra motivation to keep improving on my score.

Well, Bye for now... :)

seriously dude, let me be the first to congratulate you on a massive achievement! there should be a thread in shmups chat linking to here as not everyone reads the high scores section sadly.

would you not consider trying to beat the arcade world record? seeing a shmups.com member toppling a score in Aracadia magazine would be amazing.

great job. just ... wow! 8)
