So the game got a mixed welcome and isn´t everyone´s cup of tea.
Still the game needs a high score thread and that´s what this is all about.
The game is considered very hard, so if you make it to the top of this list it can really be a claim to fame.

Now let´s get this show on the road!

Rules: normal difficulty, 3 lives (default), no continues!

There´ll be two tables, one for the "Dreamcast mode" (DC exclusive) and one for the "Arcade mode" (Neo-Geo & DC).
So specify the mode in which the score is reached (otherwise I can´t list you).

The best 10 score entries will be listed for each mode!

AAAnnnd we´re of to a start.

Some pretty good progress you made Plasmo, especially for the first day.
I haven´t even been able to reach stage 3 yet on normal difficulty/no continues.

And the score is pretty good too I suppose (I can only compare it to my hs atm though, which is only about 70K - having trouble using the charge shot for multiplier at lots of points where I want to be quick to destroy the waves of enemies).

Will post a (hopefully better) score later this week, when I can check out the exact score again.

Now come people, get playing this game and submit your scores. It really IS a pretty cool game if you give it a chance.

Actually I switch between the modes, but that score was for the DC mode.

I try to use the experience of playing in the DC mode to get better at the Arcade mode too.

i was quite busy these days so i couldnt play LH so this is like my second day playing this game.
Ive made it to stage 4 for the first time and well...i didnt practice it before...

(survived 2seconds yay!)

Thanks, not that I needed the incentive, but at least it´s much more in reach than Plasmo´s score.

Good to see you´re playing it as well.

@Plasmo, since you´ve gotten pretty close to the end already, I´ll figure you´ll have one pretty impressive 1cc behind your name soon, right!?
Hope you´ll make it soon, as I have a long way to go...

Edit: Oops. Accidentally hit "4" instead of "5".

Edit2: Well, I did something. I don't know what, but somewhere on Stage 2, I got one fuck of a bonus for something. I don't know what it was, but my score jumped a lot when I beat the boss (or sometime before I did). So until I know for sure what it was (and can reproduce it again), this score isn't official...

Welcome Coop! Looks like you´re doing pretty well (guess all that practice in the asy mode did pay off and maybe I should try that route as well to make any progress

Ok, thanks for mentioning, but if you´re somehow able to reproduce that bonus then please let me know and I´ll add that score.

Maybe Plasmo can shed some light on this?

yep, i can

if you no miss a stage you get a bonus for all the little blue bonus items collected.if you die you only get the boss bonus (usually around 3-4k)

So you say we can attribute The Coop´s 574K+ score to that bonus!?

@The Coop: if Plasmo confirms this, I´ll change your score in the table.
If you have any problems with that, then please let me know and I´ll change it back.

tbh 500k+ is a bit too much for a stage 5 score.basically you need to lose all your lives at the beginning of stage 3 to get such a score.
the bonus you get from a no miss is around 10-15k.
nevertheless i havent experienced any bugs in LH so far (scorewise)

Well Plasmo, apparently it's not a bit too much. I did it again. At the end of Stage 2, I had 354,600. I died once at the very beginning of Stage 2, once on Stage 3 at that bouncing lasers section, then got my ass kicked repeatedly on Stage 5.

There's obviously some kind of bonus at work. I'm still trying to figure out what.

And so, the mystery has been solved. The big bonus on Stage 2 does indeed come from beating the boss. As you fight it, the boss launches pods that explode into 8-10 small blue and white creatures that you can destroy. These pods (and subsequent creatures) are right in front of the boss' weak spot. As anyone who has played this game knows, when you launch your charged shot, the more enemies you hit in a row with that shot, the more their points are multiplied (x2, x3, x4 etc as they continue to be hit on screen).

So, pound on the boss for a bit, and get it to where you believe it's close to death. When it launches a pod, fire your charged shot right on the level with it's weak spot. If your timing's right, and the boss is weak enough, the charged shot plows through the blue and white creatures just as they burst from the pod, and it slams right into the boss' weak spot killing it... meaning, you'll get a multiplier for the killing the creatures, and from killing the boss, because the boss is the last enemy to be killed in the chain.

This won't work on the Stage 1 boss, because it has no enemies to kill on the screen with it. Stage 3 and 4 might have something that can be done, but I don't believe stage 5 will work if I recall correctly (no enemies during the boss fight either?). Stage 6 I can't remember off hand.

We should have this sort of stuff in an ST or SD in the Strategy section of the board. But since I am not close to completing the game I am putting such a thing out of my head. (*goes off to play LH some more*
