There are only 4 places i would recommend bombing in this game.

- In the fifth stage (jungle) there is a smaller stealth craft that makes a sweep back and forth firing lasers and spread shots at you while choppers attack from the sides. It's not a very hard pattern once you learn it at all, but it took me an aggravating amount of tries to get it down.

- The boss of the fifth stage can be a real pain in the ass. You don't have to bomb to win, but it sure makes it hella easier. I don't recommend using one until you've destroyed both of the side turrets though. His attacks seem to get a little faster and more confusing after that.

- In the sixth stage (snow) at the very beginning there is a submarine that pops up on the left hand side of the screen and it will fire two different types of vulcany style shots at you while you're being pelted by tanks on the right. This is annoying and not worth the risk of manuevering through. Get directly behind the sub and unleash your bomb as soon as it appears while still pelting it with shots. It should die instantly. The rest of the level is a breeze until the second boss.

- Sixth stage, third (final) boss. Not much to say here, it's the final boss - unload on it's ass everytime you think you're gonna be hit. Once i get here i just don't worry about lives or bombs anymore. I usually wait until after i've blown up the turret jiggy right in front of you before i unload though. Laazzzy tactic.

Awesome game! Actually, I was recently considering opening a board for this as well, but I thought probably only 2 people would post. Great to see such a turnout now! :)

The mig really makes the boss fights a hell of a lot shorter. The last boss goes down in no time compared to the AV8.

freddiebamboo - 1,296,280 - Mig29 - 2-1

Died craply at the start of the loop trying to pick up a power up. Not sure if I can face playing this again as the first 4 stages are far too easy and get boring quickly.

I'll give that a shot as i have alot of trouble with the temple and last boss. Maybe that will make it so i don't just freak out when i reach the finale and waste all my lives and bombs to off that thing

(think i'll practice with save-states though Image )

This game sucks but I can't stop playing it. Suicide bullets kick in on 2-4!

cigsthecat - 2,167,240 - Mig 29 - 2-4

I actually like the "american dude" plane better, but the Mig's power is hard to ignore. It's way too slow though.

Yea I don't know why I'm bothering with it either, it's stunningly average. The suicide bullets will kick in earlier if you no-miss far enough, btw.

Because it's one of those games that is comfortably decent. It's not stellar, not mediocre - just there. There's really nothing wrong with the game but then... there's no real big deal about it either. It feels very balanced. I personally love games like this. I mean, it's great to have a balls to the wall freakin' awesome game to play that gets you all hyped up, but it's relaxing to play a game that's 'just nice' like Storm Blade.

I dunno. I think Storm Blade is a lot better than any of the Sonic Wings games.

The easy ALL is too tempting. I made a save state no miss test and still no suicide bullets until 2-4. Unless bombs used factors in I think you're mistaking the quick shots from the small planes for suicide bullets.

Also the WR: 6.373.120 ALL 1 MISS

Those bomb bonuses really add up I guess.

Didn't realise the bomb bonus gets so big, 6mil is a hell of a score.

I thought the perfect bonus for shooting down everything would be good, but I've got it once or twice and it wasn't too much more.

Bombs must be it then. I save stated to the end of the game with a full bomb stock and I got return bullets in 2-3 for sure.

Pretty close. Autofire was used this time.

I got to the 2nd loop a few years ago. Now I'm a bit rusty

ED-057 - 890,760 - av8b Harrier II - 1-6

It's a good game. I played it in an arcade in the Bahamas... and didn't notice a thief taking some items I had set down near by :(

Really bad run with lots of mistakes, but it's done.
