Strikers 1945 Plus

Post by Limbrooke »

Big thanks to TWITCHDOCTOR from the old thread.
TWITCHDOCTOR wrote:This will be the NEW Strikers Plus High Score thread.
In order to particapate you must either play the MVS through a Neo-Geo/SuperGun or Kawa-X emulation. MAME is ok too, just not prefered on XBOX.
Make sure you have the settings set to arcade MVS(4) difficulty, and lives at 3, extended play at 600,000 This is default by Japan's standards. However, if you want to be a "HOTSHOT" and play with USA default of 2 lives, go right ahead.
[imghttp://img229.imageshack.us/img229/1734/s45piz6.png[/img]

Japan/3 Lives/Level 4 Difficulty/600 000 extend is default (in this thread) so please make a note of regional or any other differences!
Example:
[imghttp://img482.imageshack.us/img482/8891/s45pbm6.jpg[/img]
This means you have 2 remaining ships in addition to the one you're currently piloting, so it's 3 lives.

Otherwise have fun and lets see some good scores!

Can I join in?

Problem is I have MVS setup, I assume my MVS 1C MB is European or USA bios as Spinmaster shows up in English (forget its other name). So 3 lives in total, difficulty setting 4 is ok right?

On that setting im around the 550,000 mark.. I'll post my score later today, its up to you if you want to add it.

LGB - 316600 - 1-4 - Spitfire - Kawaks

Kawaks and whatnot (Kawaks works on my computer, MAME doesn't)

NeoGeo MVS, US, set to default 2 lives actually. How the hell I managed that I never know. I'll try again with 3 lives later.

I did a horrible job!

Since you're playing emulated, you should really try to use the correct settings. I know in Mame you can set the bios for X game to the right region, so next you submit a score try that. I'll accept this one for now so no worries. Besides, this is a hard game so your score isn't too terrible.

Number of lives for one thing. It's just to be sure everyone is on the same playing field to keep the regions identical for the most part.

LGB - 348300 - Stage 1-4 - SPITFIRE Mk. VI - Kawaks

Quick question: is the Ascender allowed? It doesn't seem to be over-powering. Useful, but not powerful.

Updated: The score list reaches 20 entries!

Regarding the P55 Ascender: I've heard nothing about it being broken or otherwise compared to the rest of the planes and there is already a score from pugeta using that ship so it is legal.

Not a bad replay, and offers some decent strategy.

Motivated me to up a new score and my best attempt in a long while. So close to the extend!

Its not so much about how many bullets, its more about the technical skills and dodging patterns involved. millisecond reaction skills required for such ridiculous enemy bullet patterns.

RealBout c.f. - 1 101 600 - 2-1 - Pancake - Neo Geo MVS

A little step score-wise, but an important step for me. Had no lives nor bombs left. I will try to improve further.
This game is MUCH harder than II and 1999.
