I think that's better than my first submitted score ;)

Edit: Pretty close anyway. I think I played a while before I hit half a mil.

spongdangly - 765,130 - Stage 4

My first time making to stage 4 and I end up dieing cause some guy flew into me from behind. Oh well, beats getting killed by bullets I can barely see in the third stage.

If this game was emulated properly it'd be easier to see the bullets than in, say, Daioh (and I think possibly Shienryu too) where flickering is a killer.

Good to have you back Macaw! The last few months seem to have been packed full in parrot terms. I've just been darting about erratically on the jungle floor, nervously foraging for nuts.

Like this game alot. It's fast but without stupid bullets.

Played for about 30 minutes to get the above score. Will try and do better (I'm fed up with Dragon Blaze) but just got Batsugun for my Saturn and will probably be playing more of that when I can.

Sorry about your back that one time - it's quite a drop from the chopper.

(also sorry about forgetting who updates the thread, oops!)

I played this once today, but didn't beat my score from Macaw's tourney so here it is, lol.

Enhasa - Stage 5 - 1,592,530

There were some good scores from that thread if you want to add them: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=19576. Of course you know, it was your tourney!

Ed Oscuro - Stage 4 - 943,330

First credit in a looong time...almost broke that 1M barrier. To Stage 4 with no deaths! Screwed up the fourth boss's easy pattern twice, whoops. Used a ton of bombs there for probably no reason too.

edit:

A little, overlooked gem that I discovered today from were1974's channel:

I'm surprised that it's not included on gamefaqs' database.

Good to see some more replays of this on YouTube. I found a recording with fully working music (probs PCB) some years ago, but it disappeared shortly after, and for a long time there was nothing :( Speaking of the music, I somehow managed to find and access an OST rip around the same time. The original link is dead, but those interested (should be everyone, right?) can gr... um, find an equivalent here and see what it's meant to sound like:

Been playing a fair bit of this recently. Pretty sure this is NMK's easiest STG. Fun as hell and rockin' tunes though.

Alot going on in stage 4 but could probably beat it with a bit more practice.
