ESPGaluda Challenge: Kakusei-Mode from start to finish!

Post by ave »

There's already a similar thread for ESPGaluda II so why not :)

I've had already a few tries and it works very well (like Gunbird loop 2 if you ask me).

The best way to play is to remove the memorycard for that mode. I won't beat my Highscore with playing in Kakusei-Mode only, so I'll not be able to look at my score after I died if I would leave my MC with the good scores.

The rules:
Switch to Kakusei-Mode immediately after the game started. You choose which enemies you kill in good kakusei mode when you still have jewels left.
Usage of shield is allowed, of course. After a death, switch to kakusei-mode again immediately. :)

Name - Score - Stage - Character

Code: Select all

1. javel - 18,555,920 - 5-1 - Ageha
2. AVE - 11,xxx,xxx - 4 - Ageha
3. EIHoppe - 9,098,670 - 3 - Ageha
4.
5.

18,555,920 - 5-1 - Ageha

I think I´ve done 20 mil, but this was the only exact score I could find. I also did a run where I didn´t use the kakusei-mode at all:

12,875,950 - ALL - Ageha.

Pretty pointless. Don´t waste your time on that.

Hm. This is quite fun indeed.

Tests your knowledge of the bullet patterns a lot though--you gotta know what's coming so you can dodge in advance...which, at the moment, considering I've only had the game a couple months, is rather limited...

At any rate:
EIHoppe - 9,098,670 - 3 - Ageha

Hopefully as I get better I'll be able to improve on this. Stay tuned.

Haha I've actually tried this a while ago, didn't know there was a thread. I guess this gives me a reason to try when I fire up the cab today O:

EDIT: forgot to mark it down, but got around 10m today

I've been messing around with this for a while, very fun way to play the game - will submit a score soon. Is it considered okay to switch out of Over just long enough to get the stage 3 extend? I'm guessing so as both Overheat 1ccs I saw on Nico do this, but just want to make sure. That extra extend could finally get me past Seseri. ;)

SPZ - 32,994,050 - ALL - Ageha

This was really fun. I took a slight liberty and switched out of Overheat for a few seconds to grab the extend, but it's an easy section anyway and the rest of the run was Overheat only. :) I nabbed a recording, so a video will be coming shortly. Misses were on the 4th boss, the 5-1 boss, the clones, and twice on the final pattern.

I don't think Sapz was playing this the entire period from 12/2010-5/2012.

Haha. Well, I messed around a bit back in 2010 or whenever it was, but of course I forgot everything from back then, so the current run was just the product of a few days. A lot of was just down to good planning with the stage portions. :P I had a margin for error of about two full lives or so, so it didn't take very long to get a run that went well enough. I've been thinking about trying this for Galuda II though - now that one may take some time.

Spadgy's thinking about getting a copy of this for our local arcade, so just chucking down a score to remind myself of how fun it is. Sometimes I think I prefer all-overmode to the normal version of the game :D

Ah, so you're allowed to switch back to normal mode for the extend! Previously I was suiciding at the end of stage 3...
