My first HS thread and as far as I'm aware there was no 1941 table before this so here goes. Since it's the only 194X (pardon TLM) game to not get a HS I figured why not since CCC2 just came out.

Code:
NAME - POINTS - STAGE - SHIP - VERSION

Make sure you denote the version, although it's really only for polling since I'm unware of any differences between SGX, MAME and the 2 collections on PSP and most recently PS2. You may also add which ship you used (1P Lightning or 2P Mosquito) although I don't know of any difference pardon aesthetics. Default difficulty (Normal) ATM. Seems fitting I start off the scores albeit with a rather meager entry but it's my best to date. Auto-fire is acceptable.

Arcade/PS2/PSP
Code:
 1. Smraedis    - 12 032 800 - ALL - 1P - MAME
 2. Seahawk     - 11 752 800 - ALL - 1P - MAME
 3. Imhotep     - 10 408 500 - ALL - 2P - PCB
 4. Akraten     -  8 995 200 - ALL - 1P - PCB
 5. RFP         -  4 259 500 -  6  - 1P - MAME
 6. iast        -  2 623 900 -  6  - 1P - MAME
 7. dc906270    -  1 868 900 -  5  - 1P - MAME
 8. gs68        -  1 090 600 -  3  - 1P - MAME
 9. ED-057      -  1 051 800 -  3  - 1P - MAME
10. CecilMcW00t -    966 600 -  3  - 1P - PS2
11. roadrunner  -    243 600 -  2  - 1P - MAME
11.

SuperGrafx
Code:
 1.
 2.
 3.
 4.
 5.

21/10/09: Smraedis cracks 12mil, job well done.
12/01/11: Seahawk joins club 10 000 000 over.

CecilMcW00t - 966,600 - 3 - 1P - PS2

I was practicing on the easier difficulty and managed to 1CC it. It was a real confidence booster and helped me to develop some basic strategies for default settings. I get a little farther each time.

Slight improvement. Got the 100% Destruction on St1 too. If only the end of St2 wasn't so bloody cheap.

RFP - 631 600 - 2 - 1P - MAME

RFP - 873 800 - 3 - 1P - MAME

Finally achieved Stage 3 but still got wasted.

I'd really like to figure out how to earn 200,000pts+ on the first stage as I cannot seem to pinpoint the direct cause of this. I managed to repeatedly do this in PS2 but when I fall back on MAME where I'm a bit more comfortable it's hit or more often miss. Had I gotten 200,000+St1 on this run I'd easily have 900,000+.

Just thought I'd get a proper clear score, using the more harder settings on MAME, this was tough, but I scraped though the whole game.

It took a few tries ;)

Smraedis - 9,790,200 - ALL - 1P - MAME

nice job, Smraedis :) I just played this game for a bit and was reminded how hard it is.

Went for score more this time, but it all went wrong.. should have been a 11 million score, anyway!

huh why is smraedis's score 10 times higher than the second place?
Makes me pretty curious how the score system is.
But its a psikyo, so its just collection coins? :?

It's a capcom, there isn't really much of a scoring system, apart from picking up health icons, when you have full health, that and crashing your side planes into the enemies :D

It's at the bottom left of the screen, just like 1943. 1944 also has a healthbar.

It's a pretty frustrating game, unlike the rest of the series pardon 1944 to a degree. You can either deal with an underpowered slow ship or you can't.

Speaking for myself, I just hit 879 800 before the end of 2... then died. Only managed a piece of shit that is 893 600 1/2 into 3, not even 900k.

EDIT: Alright, make that 929 500.

EDIT2: Ok, 1 000 000+, but I won't post it yet. I just need to get familiar with 3 and I can go from there...

Update for myself too:

RFP - 1 186 100 - 3 - MAME

Would like to know some sort of strategy for the St3 boss...

I want a higher score first :D

Hmm 3rd boss is quite simple, first form just go left and right following the screen movements, then you won't get hit by the falling rocket part. Final form, shoot all the things on the right, and then charge shot the rocket whenever possible.

Now the 5th boss is where it gets hard.

Uploaded to MARP.. so I didn't use any autofire in this run.
I will keep on going, and will upload something onto Youtube soon :)

I used to be able to 1CC this with 7-9 mil.

I may get around to playing this again one day.

ALSO! What difficulty level? MAME defaulted to 2, but since the difficulty goes all the way to 8 I have a feeling the proper setting is 4.

Just checked and it is on 4, it is set to this on the newer versions of MAME.
The game is still pretty easy on 4 too!

Read the first post. Normal difficulty is the rule, which as far as I've seen is (4), CCC2 also conforms to this. Post up a score when you get a chance too.

Old MAME, back at 0.73 was it, is when this changed, so it's not a recent development. Although easy you say, eh mate?
1941(Japan)
ImageNearly beat St3 boss too, but it was one run and easily the best I've done recently.

On second thought...

Code:
RFP - 4 259 500 - 6 - 1P - MAME (1941 Japan)

Yeah I think the game is quite easy, but I just get hit by random bullets too much, if I get hit twice on a stage, I usually start trying harder :D the bosses are pretty simple too, but I usually get hit shortly before picking up the extra health for the score bonuses.

I was planning to stop at 11 million for a replay, but Ill upload when I make 12 million, or whatever my best is, after 20 clears.

Grats on getting quite far into the game too ;)

Beats the higest score on MARP, so it could be the western record.
Was not such a great run either, messed up quite a few times early into the game, but it was still enough to improve.

Twelve (finally)
Smraedis - 12,032,800 - ALL - 1P - MAME

Happy with the run, I dropped a few points here and there, but most of the time I was ontop of everything. Messed up a little on the final stage, by missing a powerup, so I rushed the midboss as fast as possible, then lost lots of health just before the final boss, and somehow beat it.

12.3 million is about as high as I can go, if I ever improve.
And I'll upload this video if I don't improve. :)

Finally got a score that is worth submitting.

Image

Seahawk - 4,179,900 - stage 6 - MAME.
It was my first time past stage 3 so I was surprised when I cleared stages 4 and 5 no problem on my first time there. I wonder how much was left of stage 6....

**EDIT: Added below and added MAME description to score above**
Image

Seahawk - 5,708,700 - stage 6 - MAME
The worst part of playing a shooting game is when you don't know what's coming up next :? .
