ESPgaluda II "overheat mode" challenge!
ESPgaluda II "overheat mode" challenge!
Having seen some Japanese vids of clearing the game entirely in kakusei and/or zesshikai mode, I tried it out. It's actually quite a rush, and a lot of fun. Feels like a totally different game (sorta like a psyiko game on crack). My best so far is up to the third boss.
Here are the rules:
As soon as your game starts, you have to press (and/or hold) the kakusei button and never press it again until you die. When you die, you have to press the kakusei button as soon as possible, and again, keep in the "overheat" mode the whole time. You can also use zesshikai (press and hold the kakusei button). You can use your barrier as you like.

RANKING:
1)21.490.756 - DKU-BON - Stage 3 - Asagi
2)18,550,552 - mulletgeezer - stage 4 - Asagi
3)18,424,982 - TWE- Stage 4 (boss) - Asagi
4)
5)
Anyone up for a friendly challenge? I think there's a bit over a dozen members here who have this PCB. It's quite fun to play in between serious runs in the 'normal' game.

Nice score, mulletgeezer.
I've changed the rules as I saw a recent superplay in "overheat" mode, and the player used zesshikai. So, you can use either zesshikai or kakusei. Zesshikai offers higher scoring potential, but it's much more dangerous (one hit takes your whole barrier away, where as in kakusei mode it only takes half of your barrier) and the bullet patterns are more brutal.
