I've watched it like 10 times now, gotta be my favorite replay ever ;-P

Is there any chance of getting a higher res version that I can save locally? I want to show my grandkids in 50 years how we used to roll.

I used to be pretty good at this game. I think my best score was something close to 90 million, which I got in the very same game as my first RFJ 1CC. It's been years since I've tried to play this seriously, this was my first credit after the long hiatus. Hopefully I can get back into my groove with this game.

Note to the keeper of this topic. I didn't intend to submit that fairy score, as I'm now in the US board listed twice. I was just pointing it out to Necro. If you could remove that score please that'd be great. (I'm already 2nd on the US board.)

Sorry, it looked like I was submitting it.

I've fixed that, Aquas. I guess I only look under the newly posted score, to see if the same name is there, and not above :D

CHI, don't you already have a 99 million score?

JP Version
Acid King - 39,611,194 - Ixion - Level 40 -MAME

I'm digging this game, though I don't quite understand the fairies. Is the multiplier based on the chain leading to collecting the fairy? Like chaining three quick shots into a fairy will result in a 4x collection bonus? Right now, I usually wind up killing them since I only have rough strategies for the early levels.

EDIT: Slight improvement

Acid King - 51,207,104 - Ixion - Level 50 - MAME

JP version

Acid King - 62,719,420 - Ixion - Level 40 - Mame

EDIT:

Acid King - 67,420,596 - Ixion - Phase 1 - Mame

First time I made it to phase 1 and I ran into the first enemy that appeared on screen.

Smraedis wrote:I've now put the Japan table at the top, as I think this version should be preferred

Out of curiosity, what's the reason the Japan version is preferred?

Edit: I'm assuming the below score is more difficult to attain than my old US score (31,956,642), so remove my US score from the boards and add this:

Japan Version

Code: Select all

22. unsane 36,981,335 Slave (Chaser 2000) Level 50 [MAME]

Japan version has one loop and some other differences.

Twiddle says that the Japan version was what the game was originally developed for. (and in turn, what every other version is based on). So technically, you're playing a tweaked version of the Japan game when you play another revision, not the other way around.

Anyway, can I request that you go play the first two Raiden Fighters games, unsane? You don't have to, I just don't like the "make a table, no one posts for years" that seems to affect lots of tables I make... probably why the original tableholder stopped showing up to start with!

You should get some action once RFA is released in NA. :) Thx for the info on RFJ-japan.

Yeah, also the Japan version has faster rank increase and it takes more time for the Miclus to come out.

Technically incorrect: the Miclus takes less time to come out in the US version.

Really been focussing on Raiden IV Double Play, but it was driving me to madness so after far too long I sat down to RFJ. Now I can't decide which Raiden to stay with!

Thanks, although risking my last life for a bomb seems a bit counterproductive.
