you must get some crazy rank in stage 3 then (if you haven't died)? so i take it that means you don't hyper the stage 1 boss?

my advise would be not to worry too much on the stage 4 chaining. even when you watch the japanese replays, you never see someone chain all of stage 4 on both loops, chaining into and out of the 1-up seems very difficult. stage 5 is much easier to chain and has less sections where you *must* use a hyper to keep it going :)

my rank in stage 3 is as low as it could be. well if i use a hyper anywhere during the first half i get some VERY nasty patterns so i guess its actually not that low. :?

Plasmo - 191,812,040 - A-E - 1-5 - 2277 Hit

I dont find stage 5 particularly easy to chain :? i have NO idea how to chain the bee hive section before the second midboss. The rest is ok but still nowhere near easy IMO.

updated, but could you post a pic when you can as well please :)

the beehive section is a fucker, no doubt. if i could do that my score would be much higher :? when the first midboss appears, most japanese players tend to hyper through it as it's about to die, so you have a bit of extra chaining time one the few enemies that appear before the beehives. i'm fairly sure that you don't have to use a hyper to keep the chain going provided you're in the middle of the screen and using the laser. for the actual beehives themselves, laser the hives, and sweeping c shot between. however, the ISO replays i have on vhs show him getting stuck into a corner and deliberately activating a hyper to sweep back across towards the end of the beehive section. so maybe you have to conserve a hyper to help you through with that bit :?:

fuck me, that's progress.

i've been playing this for the last couple of days. no improvement on score. i totally fucked up stage 2 (no change there then) but thought i'd carry on, kicked the shit out of stage 5, and no-missed the big bee. this is the second time i've made it up to 2-2...

Two questions

1: I see everyone in the table except for shuppon is using A-E. I figured B-L would be the easiest to score w/ due to the weaker laser? Am I smoking crack?
2: Why the fuck are there only 10 people participating in this thread? Will post when I have a less disgraceful score.

It's because A-E is the best ship.

Because you need 132 million points to post.

Best for scoring, survival or both? I would think the premature ejaculation (killing shit too fast) would make chaining harder.
Because you need 132 million points to post.
Didn't see anything in the first post. Top 10, huh? Harsh.

A-Exy is easier for scoring due to a more precise shot. You can usually tap C to slowly destroy enemies in places where the action becomes thin and keep your chain going. B-Exy has such a wide shot that when you tap C you can take out enemies you didn't necessarily want to yet.

IMO B-L is the easiest for survival due to a fairly wide shot, a strong laser, and a good bomb stock.

if you wanna play purely for survival (not something i'm too keen on), then probably A-S type. it has the largest amount of bombs, and is slow without being too slow. A-E is the most balanced, as shalashaska pointed out. B-E is better for the second loop, so shuppon tells me.

and yeah, it's top 10 only. it's like cave-elitism, except it's about scores and not cardboard boxes.
