Previous thread 1

3 lives only. I would reccomend noting the romset as well, as the export romsets for arcade may have slight difficulty reduction, along with no special requirements for accessing stage 9 ( on JP romsets, you need to no-miss, no bomb stages 1-8 to access stage 9).

Arcade version

TRAINING (Alpha)

NOVICE (Bravo)

EXPERT (Charlie)
JP version

Export version

Playstation version (Normal)

TRAINING (Alpha)

NOVICE (Bravo)

EXPERT (Charlie)

Playstation version (Arcade)

TRAINING (Alpha)

NOVICE (Bravo)

EXPERT (Charlie)

Looks like table formatting in PS boards doesn't work, and finally we have romset table as the difference is quite game changer for both versions.

I assume players who do the "rank reduction" trick (gameover 3 times after fresh reset and start the game in 4th credit) should count as well, not like the rank difference is huge anyway (it was helpful in Raiden II's 4th stage as the fast jets won't shoot you from behind/sides if you let them pass). I'd definitely play this on Expert course once I done spanking this bitch that is Raiden II.

I haven't set it up for PlayStation versions yet, so I'll probably knock it out over the weekend. I don't think many people knew about the rank reduction trick until recently, but maybe I'll add in another column at some point if we get more entries that use it.

Played on the UK romset and got a PB

Image

5,619,150 & maximo & 2-4 & Yes & 2P & Video

This romset forces you to play stage 9 to clear the first loop, but feels slightly easier than JP due to an easier stage 7 & makes it easier to get to 10 million vs JP romsets ( which require the player to no-miss, no-bomb the entire game to access stage 9). I probably need to practice loop 2 more if I want to potentially go for a 2-ALL or further in this mode.

No prob! And here's a new PB for Arc. Novice:

Image

5,629,300 & maximo & ALL & Yes & 2P & JP set 1 & Video

Some better medal collection should place me in the 6 million range, which seems doable with some route tweaks.

9/11 Edit: Got a bigger PB on Arcade Novice

Image

5,871,600 & maximo & ALL & Yes & 2P & JP set 1 & Video

Accidently picked up homing on 3rd boss & died on the last phase of the 5th boss, but my medal pickups were better on this run. Next target is 6 million; we'll see what happens.

9/15:

6,077,190 & maximo & ALL & Yes & 2P & JP set 1 & Video

Broke 6 million finally despite some silly minor mistakes.

4,239,400 & copy-paster & 2-1 & Yes & 2P & UK & Video

This replay would've had like 200% GUTS if there's end result in expert course , Time to crush the Japan ROM.

New Arcade training PB as I prep for a better route to get into Training Expert:

9,637,750 & maximo & 1-5 ALL & Yes & 2P & JP set 1 & Video

Moved over saucy's 12.7 million training run after noticing he did play it on the PS1 port, arcade difficulty.
