Played this, this week in a competition and I think this is my last playthrough of it. Nice little gem IMHO. Got complacent and relied on bombs and thought i could fit through bullets as i beat the boss to boot.. I carelessly lost 2 lives on 1-6, too. Kinda bothered...

I didnt have much time to enter my intials. I managed to get T and then was nearing I, never seen that before.

Race Mode
Enhasa - 1,368,295 - Bul-Gin - ALL

Got this back in ~Oct 2010. I kinda wish I'd recorded it actually.

I had over 700k after first loop. Path was:
Dasalna City - Air Circus - Outcast Castle - Cold Corridor - Strato Storm - Kobolds Tower - Dasalna City - Velmatic Ocean - Cross Fire - Deeply Dungeon - Forest of Dead! - Kingdom Grandprix

I planned on altering my path but it ended up that I never played another credit since then.

Recently picked up the port, was planning to start working on it after STGT. Nice to see there's some activity!

With Bul-Gin too. Nice work. I think he is a very underrated character. I presume you use his H shot?

Hagane - 571,401 - Nirvana - 1-6

Always come close to finishing the first loop but die at the last boss :(
Nirvana is beastly by the way, homing shots that can go through walls, take care of snipers and take everything down fast when fairies gang up make for easy first places.

Anyone has any good superplay vid? I've found several for Mahou and Great Mahou, but not for Shippu.

I didn't find anything on nicovideo.jp, but Youtube has a few 2-ALLs:

Bul-Gin 1,223,996
1 2 3 4

Nirvana 1,202,585
1 2 3

Miyamoto 1,202,404
1 2 3

Thanks! I knew about the Bul-Gin one already now that I see it. I was wondering how the hell do the Japanese get so many points.

Sekkyou MLK – Gain - 2.134.237
G.M.C. Sekkyou T.H – Chitta - 2.090.177
Sekkyou MLK – Miyamoto - 2.262.137
G.M.C. Sekkyou T.H – Bornnam - 2.249.007
G.M.C. Sekkyou T.H – Nirvana - 2.121.287
G.M.C. Sekkyou T.H – Honest John - 2.253.077
Sekkyou MLK - Kickle&Laycle - 2.195.127
G.M.C. Sekkyou T.H - Bul-Gin - 2.044.117

Finishing second loop first place I guess?

BTW

Image

Hagane - 737,201 - Nirvana - 2-2

Finally got to the second loop. The first time, I got to Bashinet with three lives and one spare bomb and got away with only one life and zero bombs. I have to practice that motherfucker. Dying on the second loop is so brutal.

Also, strats for getting first place? First loop is quite easy, either bumping on the leaders (Note: I noticed every stage seems to have a certain character that has advantage over everyone else. For example, with Nirvana, on Air Circus Gain and the kids always have a lead, and in Velmatic Ocean the kids and Chitta always fight harder for the first place) or bombing if something goes wrong, but second loop is really tough, rivals get past me very easily.

Each character seems to have different strenght stats when bumping someone. While Nirvana can barely move someone down with a bump, Kickle and Laycle can get people out of the screen pretty fast. If you manage to get everyone out of the screen when the race starts everything gets easier since the rival's speeds decrease significantly that way and you can get first easily (in the first loop) if you don't die / bump into obstacles too much.

Would love to get some discussion going, I think this game deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

With Nirvana you can just bomb as soon as the race starts and knock out everyone off the screen. Staying ahead is no problem after you do that.

Yeah, but some rivals manage to sneak to the sides and Nirvana's bomb can't get them. I hate when that happens. Also, in some levels other characters catch up to you really fast even if you bomb them (can never manage to get first in Air Circus or Strato Storm, for example). Funny thing about Nirvana: at Outcast Castle you can go left after the chainsaw and the homing fairies will take those pesky zombies at the right with no effort or risk at all.

Oh, and I managed to get first place on the second loop via savestates. You get a big fat nothing for your extra effort. Lame, but now I'm even more clueless about how the hell the Japanese get all those extra points. Bosses time out really fast and I haven't noticed any milking spots yet.

Only took me a few hours of play to clear the first loop, wasn't concentrating on the racing though. I guess I should pick a faster character and go for the 2nd loop...

I'm striving for 1.4M. I really like that the second loop not just repeat the first loop stages but consist of the alternate route.

1.4M goal get!
All the World records listed above has a 7 as last digit, meaning the player ended last in 7 stages, so key to milking must be to race slowly. Kobold's tower is the only one I have been able to milk so far though.

Great scores guys! Congratulations!
Maybe this thread will start to live a bit up!

What I still don't get is how the japanese players score so much higher?
Milking? I don't know where...
Bomb bonus for carrying more than 6 or 7 bombs? Anyone tried this yet?
A secret passage full of points in yashiki of ninjas? That would be nice..
Anyone has ever seen a video of a run much higher than 14m?

Greetings!
