That was the high score in one of the replay videos I've seen... maybe that's the same machine? Unlikely, but I guess you never know. :X (actual score was 6,589,190)

Way too lofty a score to be possible for me. To get 7.1 million you'd have to be getting around 3.5 million per loop (I'll assume that the first loop score is lower because you can get bigger bomb bonus in the 2nd loop if you start it with 6 bombs). I'm getting around 2.7 million on the first loop, and in the event that I ever manage to finish the second loop, my score would be lower since I'm bombing for my life and tend to miss some of the big Option kills.

I'm definitely not capable of getting the world record, I'll be content if I can just manage an all clear. I'll feel a little more confident once I can do the second loop with 3 lives... then it's just a matter of putting together a game where I 1-life the first loop and then keep the magic going during the second. Yeah, that ain't gonna be easy.

SAM - 986,450 - 1-3 - Reverse

Finally got the chance setup the DC again today. This is an old scores month ago.

Due to the lack of pratice I cann't even reach Stage 3 now...

***************************

Och?!?! The game is in interlance when running in low res mode. :(

It becomes a mess when hook to a RGB monitor. I have to connect it to a 21" TV in horizontal position. :? (The playing area is so small, and I could not follow the on screen action as fast as on a Tated 21" VGA monitor...)

When could I get back my 21" tateable VGA monitor? :o
*Meow* I am as serious as a cat could possible be. *Meow*

Updated the board!

Also, I finally made it to the last stage:

CIT - 1,781,250 - 1-5 - reverse

Progress is slow, but I'm going to try and beat this one. Stage 4 still poses a lot of problems though, there's a couple of spots where still can't get through without bombs. :?

Have not played the game in a while; decided to pick it up again today.

1,235,590 - 1-4 - reverse
What more can I say I wouldn't be here today if the old school didn't pave the way.

Stage 4 is a pain in the ass.
Chomsky, Buckminster Fuller, Yunus and Glass would have played Battle Garegga, for sure.

So has anyone finally figured out the rank system in this game yet?

Well, that's a GOOD thing, right? I mean, this game has no extends, so it wouldn't make sense for dying to lower rank.

It's a game where rank just flat out maxes out no matter what you do.

Dying decreases rank by quite a bit and has a score bonus, but yeah, since there are no extends it's probably a bad idea to kill yourself just for the rank decrease. Just keep fighting until you die a "natural" death. ^^
