Congrats Mr Plasmo :!:
Mills probably doesn't have access to the board right now, so you're home-free for a Record :D

Well done Plasmo! Will you try to score 2mil?

Your success encourages me, probably I should try to clear this too, after I finish Ketsui. See if I can beat it with Shinden.

2-ALL Strikers 1945 [✔]
Getting the western record [✔]

I'm done.

This run was quite flawless.

-NMNB first loop with 1,090,000 (got 1,100,000 before).
-No missed up to the stage 2-7 boss, where I did a very little mistake costing me one of my lives (but I had no bombs anyway so no problem).
-NMNB 2-8 up to the last boss. The boss itself was of course a joke with two extralives and plenty of bombs. I had to use all my bombs, but didn't die again. That makes a one miss 2-ALL! Too bad there's no endbonus of any form...
x91 wrote:Well done Plasmo! Will you try to score 2mil?
With some strategic bombing throughout the loop, this score could've been of course a bit better. Maybe around 1,9mill. After that I don't know how to improve my score. Do you maybe have a good replay for the Bf-109?

I'd say go for it! :)

The Shinden is imo very difficult to use. It's speed is very handy, but it seems to be severely underpowered. Why not go for the P-51? With it's shield, it's probably the easiest for both, survival and scoring.

We have two top Bf-109 players here, both of them can clear it with 2.1mil+. I'll see if I can catch some clues for you.
Plasmo wrote: I'd say go for it! :)
I tried it today, seems I need some time to pick up my previous progress. I can clear the first loop with more than 1mil, but the second loop looks too hard. Long way to go.

That would be lovely! :D

Indeed, the loop is pretty harsh at first. I'd even say, that 2-1 to 2-4 are the most difficult ones and definitely the wall. The rest is somewhat simpler again. Still, I needed about one week to clear the first loop and then additionally five months to beat the second loop.

By the way, expect a surprise within the next few weeks.

A huge thanks goes out to Aquas and the other guys at STGWeekly. Check out their show, it's fantastic in every aspect.

Can anyone please explain to me exactly what the hell this is? Is it some kind of secret that is worth more points when triggered? Also, I swear they used the same level background in one of the stages of Samurai Aces. Come to think of it, the art style of the two games are very similar, and some bosses and enemies in Samurai Aces have a Sonic Wings-style oddness combined with the art style of Strikers 1945.

Nothing special, other than someone continue troll, trying to rack up more points by using the collision hit damage technique to generate more power-ups icons and bombs.

That would be pretty much impossible to get with certain restrictions with google. Last time i checked the highscores in my Arcadia magazine, i had seen 2.3million with Shinden and 2.5million with ZERO. There is a dvd superplay out with some pretty impressive 2.2million plus scores with all the fighters.

Fun game to shake off the STG dust with... think I'd have to bust out MAME if I wanted to work on the loop though. Made a lot of stupid mistakes early on, or I might have gotten a little further.

Fast-Forward to 05:53, you can destroy three tanks at the start (two tanks reveal gold bonus bars) but then you can't destroy the others until you hover the fighter above one of the 4 trees (different tree positions between stages 1-4). The tree in this replay is stage 4
