because of a replay of 21MI, my record was toppled?
when the record did not know of 29MI record input in the emulator, never used in bad faith in any game or not really need it to do what.
the world record and has no input or replay to be proven fact.

a friend has snap-shot of the Japanese and record or replay?

WR from Gamest / Arcadia is 100% real, with original PCB Jap and default settings. Because there is a hard work of ARCADIA staff to check reliability.

For all scores better of Arcadia (usually in Arcadia magazine there are 99.8% of all WR on arcade games 1987~2010), wolfmame replay is necessary.

I took your score down luy because of this post. I don't want to demand a replay but after reading that, I sort of have to impose that on you.

20 / 40% speed?????

LOL...

This is called "slowdown" like dodonpachi 753.000.000+ Aichi Ken replay. Only demostration, not real play. Well, the mistery of Luy "WR" is explain, thanks crithit5000 for that link.

My start after owning the pcb for a couple days. I love this game... the balance between scoring and survival is thrilling, and it has a st2 which isn't a total bore! Hoping to 1cc it and do much better in score soon (watched some boss milking strategies on youtube that don't seem too insane...). Might have some questions/comments in the strategy section soon... looks like the Cyvern Maniax page is no longer around?

Small update:

blackoak - 4,998,760 - 1-4 - Ferious

Died so close to the extend on the st4 boss, when he puts out a stream of blue lasers. Argh! I still need to practice his patterns and get comfortable with them. I never dropped my medal chain though, accounting for the score increase. Banish management on st4 is crucial to not getting overwhelmed by the tank rows (and scoring, obviously). I need to use bombs more liberally, too.

Stupid death just before the sperm rush. So frustrating! That and a couple "wtf" moments with dropping the medal chain, where I swear I didn't miss any.

I'm really having problems with the 1-2 boss on st5. Need to watch Zetzumarshen's replay and practice that part. st4 boss is still kind of dicey depending on what attacks he puts out. I feel like I probably could have beaten this game by now if I were doing savestate practice; these are all pcb runs. I've been switching between this and Tatsujin Ou, not sure how healthy that is.

Finally! Took a survival approach figuring the second loop would up my score significantly, which was true. Cheesed out the 1-5 boss... had 0L0B but built up enough extra lives through extends to get to 2-3. Time to take a break from this one, and probably return to it later with savestate practice now that I know all the trouble spots.

I want to really like this game. It's tough, but there's things that are annoying me like how Ferious seems to be the only dragon that's really viable as it can actually kill stuff in a timely fashion and gain banish quickly. That, and it's annoying how powerups seem to enjoy taunting you by floating erratically, often up at the top of the screen. Is there any way to manipulate them so I don't always have to chase down bomb items? ;_;

Using autofire settings in MAME, hopefully this isn't considered cheating; hurts like hell to have to tap constantly on keyboard like when I was working on Giga Wing, and I don't have an arcade stick whose buttons are much more comfortable. Game's fire rate also doesn't change whether you're steadily pressing fire or mashing it quickly.

Posting my best after running across this topic, I got this score all the way back in mid-September, games brutal but so good. I should really go back to it sometime in the near future.

Finally got past the stage 4 boss, he's not too evil now that I've learned his patterns.
Doing a lot better scoring on stage 1 (1.2mil), and at least 3.5mil by the end of stage 3.

Doing better now, found a lot of new ways to score, especially in boss fights.

Does stage 4 automatically reset your medal chain? I keep going back to 50 point medals at the big tank rush, and I have no idea why.

Stage 4 doesn't reset your chain. Its just that there are sections with so many tanks that its easy to let one medal slip off the bottom of the screen. Probably best to not be too greedy on those sections

dammit... If I had known to take out either eye before sitting like a duck in the middle of the screen... maybe would have been enough for an extend and victory via bomb spam...

No updates for a few years, huh?
I'll create a new topic, this one can be closed consequently.

Also playing Cyvern again myself. I need to get the 1st loop clear at least which I couldn't quite do back in STGT. Still fun as hell.

I'm hooked, I absolutely love this game, but I can't compete with with most of the excellent players here. You guys rock :)

I'm posting because I need some help on a the end boss, when it start filling the entire screen with bullets, how do you survive this part? I usually only have 1 bomb left at this point...
I found a little place to hide on the 4-turret x-shaped boss when it fills the screen with bullets, with much trial and error, but the end-end boss really does me in..

thanks,
