Yes Aguraki I agree. In fact Plasmo said pretty much the same, asking for a replay of 27mil or more before 29.9mil can be accepted.

EDIT:- Played 1 more credit and somehow triggered the yellow Boss on ST2-1 -> score over  . So that's that. I stop at 22.85mil. There are too many things that can go wrong (scorewise) in a 2 loop run.

Like I said before, if you folks need to go on the replay witchhunt, be my guest...but please don't suggest that I sit here and play Walter Day.

I'm posting here, so as not to pollute the STGT Cyvern thread:-
Firstly, Congrats to luy for his 21.8mil 2-ALL opener 8)

(I have no time to compete this year, but here's some tips)

Tips
Rapid Medalling
I see that DMC stated that medal recovery is slow on Cyvern. Its actually not if you do things right.
The basics are of course -> laser ground enemies and collect 5 medals before the value can increase. This means you laser rush-and-collect. I stress 'collect' because let's say you die and lose your max medal chain on Stage 4 through being a greedy bastard. Simply respawning and lasering the hell out of all n'sundry will work against you. You'll have minimum 100point medals scattered all the way up the screen. A mess can be created quite easily on dense ground enemy stages like ST4.
However, at the same time, if you start your medal recovery sitting on top of the first ground tank and rush up and collect as you laser, you can actually raise your medal chain from min to max in one extended laser blast (in dense areas that is).
In less dense ground enemy areas, short controlled bursts are wiser.

Score Tip
The Last Boss's final form on both loops has two side pods or 'eyes' surrounding it. These Eyes are worth 100,000pts each. So obviously destroy them before you destroy the central Head.
Cyvern is an oddity in that both forms of the Last Boss on both loops can be quick-killed. You only need to destroy the central Head on both forms to go through. All side pods & eyes are optional extras. It is of course advisable to destroy them for score. This means that you can lose out on 400,000pts if you destroy the central Head before destroying the Eyes on the 2nd form.
So remember the old Gradius II addage: "Shoot it in the Eye!" then "Destroy the Head!"

In cyvern you need 5 medals to level up, in Yagawa games you need 1, so it's still relatively slow. As yagawa medals typically fall one by one, they are usually easier to level up as well (although there are ofc sections where they come all at once). On the other hand, medals do fall quite fast in yagawa games so they are also easier to miss. Nonetheless, it's still slower to recover the chain. But this is just a matter of taste anyway, and it's a challenge to implement the strategies for medal recovery you described. So im not saying it's poor. It's probably just because Im failing at it anyway.

Thanks for the last boss tip btw.

Try to recover medals in a straight line, rushing and collecting up the screen as you laser, on Stage 4 that is. Its a good strategy for the Stage 3 tank area too. Try not to overstretch yourself. Losing your medal chain is obviously more damaging to score than those extra two medals that you just...had...to...squeeze on the other side of the screen
Plus be very careful when lasering ground enemies at the very bottom of the screen! The medals can quite literally slip underneath you and disappear as soon as you make them appear. This is where greed can bite you.
Its a fine line between being conservative and being greedy on Stage 4.

I gotta admit you're more right than me here, 50-100-1000-5000-10000, not that many steps to maxed medals.

My score from STGT:
Battletoad - 7,550,550 - 1-5 - Ferious

I´ll return to this sooner or later. The 1st loop clear shouldn´t be much of a problem with enough time.

I might be taking my damn sweet time updating this thread, what with the 100+ scores from STGT, working tons of overtime lately (12+ hour days are the norm), playing way too much TF2, and trying to have a reasonable facismile of a social life. I'll get to it eventually.

For what it's worth, the old standard is that only scores that specifically get added to the stand-alone thread get added. Some previous STGTs have had very good scores go unposted. But it's your call, it'd be interesting to see the 140 STGT scores in here (I think all of them must be higher than the previous ones...certainly is true of mine).

I personally wouldn't want my score posted here. If I looped the game things would be different, but as is I'm not terribly satisfied with it.

I'd just port all scores by players who are already present on the board.

Thanks moozooh, m3tall1ca and Mr Sidearms backwards.
That score was 300,000 higher than I thought I was capable of. So I'm leaving it there.
