Thanks Icarus. I don't think I'll be hitting the top spot as I'm *very* hit or miss with this game. When I played again tonight and got that 13mil score, I had about 6 games where I exited out by level 2 because of stupid deaths.

I'm also horribly inconsistent with chains (except for the beginning of level 2, I can usually chain up to when the land runs out on the right side of the screen, but can't figure out how to link to the ships flying in from the left). I know you can get monster-chains on level 5, but I just can't do it.

So I end up playing for "how far can I get" instead of points. I'm pretty damned happy with 2-4.

Also, I have a feeling ZLK is gonna pop in at the last minute with a 20mil score ;) I should have suicided at 9million to keep myself in Tier II :D

And I still don't know how you guys get 1mil plus scores on level 1. I can usually get around 800-850k now (but I purposely deplete all my bombs to get more bomb capacity).

The weird thing with donpachi is the hitboxes aren't necessarily where you intuitively think they are.

The hitbox for the A ship is easiest to see with the 1p ship. It is that dark red dot inbetween two really small white dots at the middle/back of the ship. I think the hitbox also includes the white dots as well. It is further back than you expect so doing precise dodges is kind of hard.

There are also two small white dots on the B ship right behind the dark dot where the helicopter blade is. The hitbox is in between those two whit dots. The hit box on the B ship is higher up than the A or C ship.

Relatively speaking, the hitbox for the C ship is in the same position as the A ship. If you load up the 2 player C ship there are 2 prominent yellow dots then a white dot towards the back. From this white dot to the white fire coming out of the jet engine is where the C hit box is.

I probably won't submit a score since I don't plan on competing in all of the contests.

I have a feeling that someone is going to pop in with a 15mil.
And I couldn't even play properly last night, kept dying in stages 3 and 4 >_<#
Too busy with coursework and Advance Wars DS to play tonight -_-;;

In any case, well done everyone. Its been a good competition. See you in the next one ^_^
