Ruldra - 207,200 - No

Really old score (back from Rob's Arcade Countdown thread in 2008). At one point I had a bigger score but the game tends to suddenly reset in the middle of play. Not sure if it was because of the emulator I was using back then.

Huh, that's strange to hear on the reset. I'll have to see if it happens in ShmupMAME once I can get to your level.

Still trying to figure out a couple things. Mainly if point values differ on special targets (like the two-headed dragon things) depending on how soon/late you shoot them, and the numbers that pop up when you shoot a bunch of enemies in short succession. I'm not sure on that second one if there's some kind of "chain" bonus or if the game just tells you what all the enemy values add up to.

I think I figured out the scoring! From what I gathered, it goes like this:

-Each enemy you hit without missing increases some kind of bonus value by 100 (the point value that show up when you kill enemies). This includes hits landed on enemies that take multiple shots to kill, like the giant Phoenix knockoff enemies.
-Rapid shots seem to build up bonus as well, but not quite as much I think. Also being less accurate, they can be detrimental to keeping bonus up.
-Missing with a shot cuts the bonus in half.
-Hitting all enemies in a "wave" doubles the bonus amount from the final enemy in that wave. I use the term loosely because bonus can carry over to multiple enemy spawns, so you can go through 2-3 separate groups of enemies and have the double bonus trigger after killing enough groups.

I'm not sure how high the bonus can go, but I was getting 9000+ points per enemy before my run got cut by a couple of the Phoenix knockoffs that dive & shoot at you.

However, it also looks like that the keeper who upholds this table no longer visits this forum..

Yep, it's yet another name to cross off the list. New thread here, now featuring other versions and Exerizer.
