Please take my score down. I don't like this game whatsoever and have no desire to play it. I won't be competing this month.

Right, I'm done playing this game. I'm going to hear that first stage music in my nightmares.

shmuppyLove wrote:In MAME, you can actually map two buttons to the same input (button 2 in this case).

So on my joystick, I have autofire enabled on one of the buttons for the pew pew shooty gun and not enabled on the other one when I'm using shoop da whoop lazors.
the problem with having shot and missile on the same input is "consecutive laser" (normal laser + cyclone laser) versus autofire missiles

i guess you could have one button for shot and one button for autofire shot+missile but you don't really need to do all that, better to keep inputs the same but set shot to toggle and missiles to autofire, then map toggle to something like left shift

For me it wasn't even that. The ship and the hitbox are a fair size compared to the size and number of bullets in most cases. But the shape of it seems weird. It seems to be bigger behind and on top of the ship ... like it's not centered properly or something.

There would be times (luckily I had the force field on) where I would collide with the terrain or a stray bullet and seriously be scratching my head.

the hitboxes are bigger when you have a Force Shield on. This is generally the case with Gradius and Parodius.

While I can entirely understand the way it looks, I honestly hadn't looked at any posts here or elsewhere pertaining to this game before posting. All I knew is that the game was supposed to be obscenely difficult, Salamander 2 made me decide I should give the -ius games a second shot so I honestly came into this with an open mind!

The inflating moai heads from the moai boss have even worse, off-center, large as fuck hitboxes. That boss will really piss you off if you manage to get that far.

lol, nice one

Who put those together? Good work.

Man, I was doing pretty well at the bubbles, with powered-up double (the kind that gives three shots, used it just to see, maybe laser would've been better), and dodged tons of stuff (with the help of tons of slowdown), but then I caught a random bullet I hadn't been paying attention to. Of course things went quickly downhill from there. Only 56K this time :(

I gotta say though, you feel like the boss when you're dodging around and shooting stuff in stage one. Space sand lions, man..! Only problem...well, aside from the cheesy music (space battle anime? porno?) there's the whole "WILL THE DUCKER BEAT ME TO THAT SPOT" issue.

lmao. Now I know what inspired the hitbox on FC Salamander's stage 1 fangs... and FC Gradius II's stage 1 solar flares. "WHAT THE FUCK NOT EVEN MY TAIL LIGHT WAS TOUCHING IT!" "It's the Real Arcade Feel baby!" "Oh okay then."

I give the wrong impression there - I do like my porno music, so all this proves is you have no taste in porn. If you give me a second I could probably find some [REDACTED] which samples this, or at least sounds very similar.

More games need space sand lions strutting around.

Hugs?

p.s. stop selecting cut-offs for high score threads so my old ones fall out of the list, thx!

By the way, you might want to update your Change Air Blade hiscore board - there's some ancient scores still not entered there, mine included. Tinotormed even suggested sending you a pm to some dude, but we know you aren't really into that pm business, right?

How do you go about timing that out anyway? I don't remember it being too hard to kill as long as you are using Type B. You just have to memorize the way to kill it.

IIRC, there can only be a max of something like 10 baby moais on screen so he wont spit any more out unless you kill whats already on screen. They only inflate when you shoot them so just get them in a nice cloud and let them follow you around the screen in a circle until it times out.
