Zengeku - 542,200 - 1-5 - X-36 - Shmupmame 2.2
Further evidence of my inability to play non-danmaku games. Still more fun than anything we had last year. Will play more later if I get around to it.

Why are the ShmupMAME inputs dropping sync when played back? Are there more than one build of ShmupMAME 2.2 out there?

Re: STGT'12 Week 1: Strikers 1999
It's because of nvram. Over at MARP, they require you to not use nvram unless it's specified that you can for this reason. You might(?) be able to get it to play back if the nvram from right after recording is supplied along with the input file. Or it should work if the nvram is supplied from right before recording. nvram complicates inp playback.emphatic wrote:Why are the ShmupMAME inputs dropping sync when played back? I tried to play back jaimer's input file and couldn't.
Re: STGT'12 Week 1: Strikers 1999
Nope. The direction that the medal is facing determines the value. 200 for if it is collected when it's 'back' is turned (the color of the medal is very dark and dim), 2000 when collected facing forward (the medal is brightest). Collecting 2000s in a row creates chains that grant bonus points.AmidstStorm wrote:can anyone tell me how the score values work for collecting the medals? Is it random values?

I don't like this game. And this game doesn't like me.
Medals: AFAICT chaining just makes each chained medal, except the first, worth 200 points more. So breaking the chain is not such a big boo boo as it is in a Raiden game.

This game is pretty fun, but I don't really understand the scoring system yet.

I'm using shmupmame 3.0b.
e: Yeah I found that too sik. Guess I'm getting an official build. >_<

Re: STGT'12 Week 1: Strikers 1999
shmupmame 2.0b or whatever it's called is based on mamefx140 I think, so that should be fine. 3.0b is based off of 99.
Re: STGT'12 Week 1: Strikers 1999
Shmupmame 2.2 doesn't have the message.
It's a big annoyance but the boss is still doable with the message there. It's mostly tapstreaming after all.

I'm bad at dodging if I can't see my ship. I don't have the taps memorised yet either. :<
