;_;

So close to beating 2-6, but had no bombs for the last form of the boss and his random positioning messed me up.

Thanks. For some weird reason the game displays ALL even though you are on 2-7.

Just bought Sengoku Blaede for my Saturn but no where near the scores yet to get on the table. Really enjoying the game though.

You shoot at the Buddha, the Buddha shoots at you.

Good game, very very hard. I should play this more often.

Honestly, Blade confuses the hell out of me. I keep trying to point-blank as Katana to use the awesome charge and getting hit, which is a big part of why I game over so quickly, but still. It almost feels like it wasn't made by Psikyo.

I'll definitely read your ST and try to get more of a feel for it, though.

I think the first rule on Psikyo games is "kill before get killed". Dragon blaze requires master that technique. On sengoku blade you can select two types of charcters: the one who need proximity for kill fast (Junis, koyori, tengai) or the one who can kill fast with the charged shot (Aiyn, katana). Try playing with Aine, he dont need long time for charge his melee atack but have some problems with popcorns enemies (like quaid?) and plus his bomb are good for clean the screen when its required (like quaid?). Point blanking on blade requires some practice, but you dont need to do it a lot if you learn when you must charge the melee atack. Cmon, try blaede, i think is the most similar game to dragon blaze from psikyo.

PD: Sorry about my bad english. I need almost 15 minutes for write it. Im a native spanish speaker

EDIT: No quaid style bombs for aine on blade. Get confused with gunbird 2

Blade is sort of like an oldschool Dragon Blaze. Kill the popcorn with main shot, then deal with big shit with charge shot. Instead of lots of gold coins you get extra enemies haha. If you have trouble with Katana's charge shot you can either

1. Charge your first CS normally, then press and hold shot as soon as you release your charge shot. You'll start charging during your attack animation, so the next CS will be ready much sooner than the first.

2. Use Ayin. He has nearly no charge time, his CS is powerful enough to kill most enemies in one or two hits and his bomb is an instant kill against most bosses if done right.

You can also do wacky shit like positioning you character below an enemy if it has a familiar (Koyori, Junis, Tengai) to deal super high damage with ghetto riding, but that's pretty hard to pull off and you should stick to Katana and Ayin first.

For Katana, I'd recommend you watch OWA's insane superplay. It's in the first post in my guide. There are better strats for the second loop, but he does a near flawless first loop. I might make a video with speedkills for Katana now that my PC doesn't lag when recording videos.

Finally, the most useful protip ever: if your enemy shoots, tap. 99% of the bullets in the game are aimed. Even scary fast boss patterns can sometimes be avoided with a single tap, lol.

Sengoku Ace
818,200 - Battletoad - 2-1 - Ain - PS2

Thankfully, a quick clear! :)
Like all other old Psikyo titles, this game has a lot of things I hate with passion (weird half-aimed patterns, too many characters with slow speed and/or without panic bombs, auto-powerdowns, powerups that are way too hard to recollect after a death...), but since two spontaneous credits yesterday went real well, I decided to go for the 1-ALL. Weirdly I have the most fun by far when playing with Gennai (the old dude), love his speed and weapons. But I'm totally lost without panic bombs. And unfortunately Gennai's bomb is utterly horrible... it doesn't even do much damage even though it looks like it. The girl on the top left (don't know her name) was pretty nice, too, just too slow for my taste. So I went for Ain in the end...

Not a bad game overall, it has its charme, but it misses much from what I love about Psikyo's later games (from Strikers 1945 II on).

Yeah, I definitely need to finish Blade's 1st loop as well. But I'll use my TATE setup for Homura and perhaps ESP Galuda or Gunbird 2 first. After that, we'll see...

Soooooooo close, I messed up so I got to the boss with only one life and one bomb. If I had just one extra bomb I could have killed him. Just a bit more consistency on 2-5 and 2-6 and I'll get this.
