I'll get the ball rolling here...

The freaky thing about this like I said earlier was how I was playing Daioh earlier today while taking a break from Parodius because I always liked this game but never dedicated myself past the 1st loop, and wondered if it'd make STGT this year or not. I used to think the checkpoints really screwed you here but its actually really easy to recover in this game once you know how stuff works. I think you're expected to die from time to time once you hit stage 4 because by that point the bullets are way too fast assuming you haven't died yet. But anyways, my first run since I last played this seriously in April:

P.S. Just a word of advice, be careful about picking up a full power up, they may give you 1 shield to block a bullet but the rank skyrockets. If you let them fall to the bottom of the screen you should notice the rank drop pretty hard by the time you die again.

Hm, the MAME I was using kept randomly crashing on me, might take a little doing to get it running.

What I did manage to play seems promising! I can see myself enjoying this. I was playing a bunch of Truxton 2 at the arcade this weekend, this seems to have a slightly similar feel and looks better overall. Looking forward to getting into it

Is there much in the way of a scoring system going on here, or is it just really straightforward?
