Hey guys, I'm a developer for FB Alpha, while the drivers are based off the MAME drivers, the code is actually different. But I don't think that should mean there should be a separate scoreboard for FB Alpha and MAME plays, as the game plays exactly the same using either emulator.

best regards,

I've been playing Mad Shark again a month or so ago and got some minimal score improvement that's not really worth posting. But I got to the point where I couldn't progress further - 4th boss was just too much for me. So I had to give up for the time being. I just wish a version w/o checkpoints of Mad Shark existed, so I could get away with bomb spamming the boss.

I'm genuinely impressed, this game is great. I was skeptical at first (it being another Allumer game, after all) yet was stoked to find out that there was no need to be afraid. Granted, a few bosses can toss out unavoidable patterns if you don't manipulate them well in advance, but I think they handled the "resource 'em up" part astoundingly well. Speedkilling larger enemies and bosses is great fun, I also love the twist that the laser is the dominant weapon in this game instead of the vulcan. Will definitely return with a better score one day, I squandered three bombs in the first loop for safety reasons against bosses 4, 6 and 7 (the second bomb against the fourth boss was entirely useless, I panicked) and died a stupid death against the 2-2 boss which killed my run. It's certainly possible to get a 2-ALL in this, that would require some careful planing with the bomb distribution, though.

I wrote spadgy a PM a few days ago, if he doesn't respond I'll take over for this thread and Zing Zing Zip, I'm sure he won't mind. :)
