Good to see you're still playing mate :)

I've been battling with Raiden Fighters 2 recently for the 1CC and haven't put been able to put much time in on this lately. Once I down that bad boy I'll be back to attack a score.

Woah, busy thread here tonight!

You've been putting out some excellent scores recently dude, you must have far too much free time

And cheers for putting up an input :P

@drboom: I've looked through a few japanese mame replay sites and found nothing of interest (marp ones are crap and use ancient mame IIRC), Ruldra's inp, the strategy chat in this thread and the one linked in the first post are the best resources that I know of.

I have lost my damn password to nico video however, so I haven't been able to look there - if anyone can fill me in on how to retrieve it, I'd be eternally grateful.

My college exams were over in tuesday and we didn't really have classes for the rest of the week, so yeah I had a lot of free time recently :P

Tomorrow we're back to normal schedule though.

Thnaks for posting that .inp, Ruldra. Haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing, but I'm stoked to do so this evening.

You should definately convert that, add it to your superplays page on youtube.

Toaplan set us up the bomb.

Post by antron »

Has anyone noticed that you can wear an upgrade and carry one too?

The level one boss sets you up for a double bomb if you are at his checkpoint. Just before him are two rows of pods: two floating, two on the ground (you can't capture these). The first one on the right and the second one on the left are bombs. Capture the first pod then shoot and grab the second. Drop the first one in his face, keep shooting. Wait for him to shoot a diagonal stream of yellow bullets - then release your pod into the stream. The bomb upgrade will be left floating when hit. Grab it and turn him into a pile of rubble.

edit: ifound a better way (use the first bomb to open the second):

Toaplan set us up the bomb.

Also,
If you are wearing an upgrade and want to capture another one: release your current one - capture the one in a pod - then pick your old upgrade back up.

If you are carrying a speed and see a bomb next to a baddie, release your speed, grab the bomb, use it, and grab your speed back.

Stage 9 isn't that hard...just use the orange laser all the time and you should be fine. For the boss, pick the blue laser and destroy the arm cannon.

Time to get back to this and beat the loop!

Well - I spent ages tracking down a PCB in the UK, and then when I first fired it up I thought that the game really wasn't for me. Just on the brink of deciding to give up, suddenly I started to love Dogyuun. So here's my first submission. A rubbish one, but I've only had one short evening to put to it so far.

That's my excuse anyway...

I missing a trick though - I'm getting nothing out of the C-button. Can you capture ships from level 1?

Yeah, you should be able to if you hold it in, though to be honest you aren't missing much. I don't think many players on the board use captures.

Scores updated.

Good to have you on the board Drago :D

I put your stage number in as 1-5 (loop reached then stage) as a guess cause I've forgotten how the game displays its stage count again

First number is stage reached, second one is how far you got in the stage. In Drago's case, he died halfway through stage 3.

Also, spadgy died on stage 4, according to the pic he posted.

Right, I know I'd said I was going to play this now my PCB is in Casino Arcade in London, but I'd been a bit lame so far thanks to being distracted by Deathsmiles MBL and DDPDFK. However, I'm really digging Dogyuun now, and I know DEL has developed a taste for it now, plus m0nks is on board. CHI should be along soon too, once DSMBL goes.

So, slight improvement for me, and m0nks joins the fray:

Image

spadgy - 927,060 - stage 1-3

mr_m0nks - 491,800 - stage 1-3

(m0nks is MCT on the board).

The player in first place is a mystery player. The Tatsujin Oh! title screen reflected in the cab's monitor is included for extra cool...

You can only hold one bomb. Aside from the power-ups that change your main weapon (just wait for them to change colour to the weapon you like) there are two types of power-ups - almost bolt-on modules to your ship, which you can see attached to your back when you have picked one up.

The purple one is bomb.

The blue one turns the bomb button into a speed-up button, which you can hold down to move about super-quick.

Here's the important bit. You can only hold just bomb or just speed-up. If you pick up speed up, you drop bomb. If you pick up bomb, you drop speed up.

Weapon change pick-ups are separate from this rule.
