1.0 inspired me to bust this out. I think this is my 3rd or 4th time to have my way with it. Nice that I can do that considering I bought it new on release.

I can do the first two forms perfectly about 75% of the time. The last form is only about 50% at best though. I should probably just bomb him, since I can obviously get the multiplier to a respectable level by the end of the game.

Guess I won't put this up just yet if you're getting it out.

Why not play God Mode?

pretty wierd balance that the 3rd boss is by far the hardest part of the game

someday ill return to god mode for sure but at the moment im just having more fun with original, i want a score i can feel like im finished with before i abandon it..

There are two parts that are tricky.
The first: stay dead center. Tap whichever way he's moving as the bullets are about to hit you. You should get through unscathed, but will have to dodge the new wave.

The other one is the wave just before all the neon purple shit, right? The key is to be on the right or left side when he *starts* that attack. As you move to the other side, you can ignore the round purple bullets, and only worry about the other ones that seem to be travelling "in twos".

Your own your own on the last form. I'm comfortable w/ bombing.

Yeah stage 3 boss is pretty tough. I was able to get through the first two forms, but the third form was a bit of a crapshoot. I would tend to move up on the screen midway through the 'bullet necklace' he drops down, dodge a few of the pink bullets and after that there wasn't too long until he was dead. If I got too close to the danmaku, bomb.

Score-wise it's really weak, and I'm super disappointed with myself on the stage 5 boss where I rolled in with 4 lives and came out with 1 and no bombs. :whyioughtta:

Pathetic. I guess I should've suicided at the end to get the bomb bonus huh?

If you learn to fully milk the second boss, you can make about 100m off of him, alone. I usually get to him with about 120m, and go into level 3 with something like 200m-220m. I can teach you how if you're having trouble figuring it all out. Let me know if you're planning on hitting up AI.

I decided to give Palm a try on Maniac last night after all. Second run ever I got the 1CC. I cannot believe how much easier this game is with Palm. You don't even have to dodge a bunch of boss patterns because they die before they even get a chance to do them.

msm: That's an awesome first score. Scoring on original is pretty straightforward. Anything in particular that's confusing you? Your score is pretty good...looks like you've got the basics down.

thanks! maybe i'm just getting lucky as i only know how to suck up the gems/gold stuff and that's about it. need to read the strategy guide some more, i have problems putting into practice even basic scoring systems and want to avoid asking any silly questions

also messed up my score post, didn't get to the boss that time, sorry, it should have been:
