Wow - that's an awesone score by level 3. I need to improve my route. I'm only hitting a million once I nail the level 3 boss...

That doesn't stop me from being disappointed in you!

Also, it's not like I'm any good with regard to this game either.

Last credit before sleep, still just warming up (only 5 hours spent so far). I'm close to being almost nearly reasonably optimal ( :D ) in the first two stages... have to train the further ones. Also, I found that replacing the music in the game with Rise Against makes my concentration better :).

;) Seriously though, I'm a complete shmup beginner, so it's not a surprise you're doing much better than me... just try joining a Quake speedrunning contest, though! *shakes fist*

Ok, turns out I'm a dirty liar, that last score was NOT my last credit before sleep. A few route changes, and two tries later I get this (over 517k at the start of stage 2, I guess that's pretty good?). First time I saw stage 4 boss :).

I tend to be around 500K at the time you whoosh through the screen in level 2, and near a million early in stage 3.

It is no bad thing to be a "beginner", as long as you have some competitiveness about you, you have some good observation skills, and you're good at learning from your mistakes. A dash of OCD is good, too. At least, when you're a "beginner" you have larger and more frequent improvements, which can be motivating. When you get to a certain level of skill, improvements become smaller and less frequent. -_-;;

And Quake? I'll stick with Metroid Prime, thanks. ^_-

Ed Oscuro - Team Feelings - 936,600 - 3 - MAME Plus! 0.127
Autofire - Button A on, delay 1
Ver.: Fay Rorce (Ver 2.3J)

Another score with 600 points at the end!

Bah, I was doing MUCH better this time, but got crowded off the screen later on in stage 3. At least I made a good chain before I went under!

Edit: Lol, didn't even advance a place.

This game is more interesting in theory than in practice.

I'm discovering scoring opportunities but then forgetting there are bullets coming at me. Oops. Better aim for stage clears before nitpicking for higher score, methinks. Hate those pesky popcorn ships getting on your sides.

I'm a PC speedrunner, OCD is guaranteed ;).

First credit today. Also that score is from the very beginning of stage 4 - so many chains lost because of dying here... I'm getting really good scores on the first 2 stages now with surprising regularity. And stage 3 can go to heck. :)

Seems like every time I play this, I get slightly less far into stage 6 but with a slightly higher score.
Probably due to rank and whatnot.
