Yeah, focusing doesn't really help that much on Easy, except for more convenient positioning.

Updated, and reformatted the first post in order of information relevance. Hopefully it's easier to read now.

Easy:
spongdangly — 1,894,749,010 — Cb — Youmu — 0.20% (replay)

I hadn't played this in a week or so. I somehow managed to screw up a couple of the last spell cards that I normally get so now I know for sure that with enough practice I'll crack the 2 billion point mark.

Yes moozooh, it's easier to read now. It seems to be organized much better.

Easy:

Not bad for not playing for a while.

If you have any ideas on how to make it better, I'll consider them. Even though I'm already very happy with my scoreboards' formatting and stuff, the sky's the limit. ;)

Boards updated.
You might notice the Easy mode WR has once again been improved; played with Marisa again this time. The story is that a new player, Doin, appeared on the jp scoreboard recently, and made several very successful Easy mode Marisa runs using new approaches to various parts of the stages. They've inspired one of the active veterans, AM, to make new versions of Easy and Extra runs with Marisa, resulting in this improvement, among others.

Also, for those willing to tackle Lunatic scores with Youmu, there is a great run by 紙G, showing how to make 5 billion without risking much. Very clever and convenient to use solutions there. It's 2nd from the top here. I'm pretty sure somebody will improve either Easy-B or Lunatic WRs soon using these new approaches.

I would have done so much better if it wasn't for me screwing up Kaguya's last spells.

Finally, I beat my first Touhou Extra Stage!

The score is shitty, and subject to updates as I try for improvement.

Extra:
Momijitsuki - 1,248,712,910 - C - Reimu&Yukari - 0.82%

You have to use it if you want a good score. Unless you are using Marisa/Alice (the witch girl or the girl with a book and a doll), you need to press Shift when you're at the top of the screen to attract all items to you. Also, if you are at MAX power, you can also do this without pressing Shift. Marisa/Alice automatically attract items at the top of the screen, as if they always had maximum power.

Also, if you want to submit a score, you need to do it in the same format that is requested in the first post, along with which difficulty you're playing on and which character(s) you're using, and the slowdown percentage. You can see all of this on the hi-score page of the game.

I'm not sure what the difference is, but you should see which version it is on the main menu of the game.

When I run IN, I just get the main menu with nothing but the picture in it.

Also, if I run IN on the desktop, it turns full screen and then I get some huge error box that says 'log' for the title. What do I do?

Here are two of my better runs I made so far:

Extra Stage - Border Team
Ltc - 1,597,742,530 - C - 0.469% - Replay

Here is my best try on the extra stage. I decided to try out recording it with new computer and editing it into High Definition.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtthnx9ptP8&fmt=22
Quality is really close to actually watching the replay with the game so it's a lot easier just to watch the video instead of bothering to download the replay (If your computer can handle it that is).

Normal - Reimu
Ltc - 1,915,909,550 - Cb - 0.331% - Replay

Solo Reimu is quite fun. Although it's pretty nasty you can't capture some cards even with full power. Lots of unfocused play.

Extra Stage:
Dodgebll - 1,395,743,230 - C - Reimu&Yukari - 0,13%

Here is the replay for it http://www.touhoureplays.com/img/221.rpy

I've got a video too, but its pretty bad quality.

Normal:
Vorpal - 1,760,079,980 - Cb - Ym & Yy - 0.21%

Barely an improvement over my other score, but it's with a different character (much harder to score with it seems... maybe because Marisa rapes me whereas Reimu is a cakewalk).

I have this exact same problem. Even without abusing the bug, I score the best by far with Ma&Al.

Hmm, it seems the bulk of the score in this game comes from completing the final boss' final spells. I just played a game near perfectly to the final boss only lost 2 lives, but missed all the final spells and ended up with a rubbish score ;-(
