Im using Mame32 Plus 0.118u4, it allows for autofire. The default delay is 1, is this the accepted setting anyone?
Btw, just watching the INH sample of stage 1, the ships rate of fire is a constant stream allowing for rapid destruction of everything. Is this using autofire too maybe, or just button bashing?

My best runs come from dying early, like once on stage 2 and 3 each

Whenever I see that "99%" completion on Stage 1, I translate it as "I like other arcade boards of the same gender."

I'm killing everything... I even found a few fighters that I had to kill before they'd fly off, but still... 99% every time. I don't get it. I can 100% stage 2 without even thinking about it, but stage 1? Nooo... There're fetching SECRET enemies all over the damn place.

By the way, how can you make a inp with this game? Every time I try, it goes into its stupidly long warm up shit, even with the nvram files in place that Twiddle linked to in the other thread. I'm using the newest MAMEPlus.

Yes. On my Mac it doesn't run at all. I tried 3 different versions of MAME and always got some weird error.

On my Windows-Notebook it does run, albeit without sound.

Anyway, here's my first crappy score:

Scores updated,

I am glad to see Icarus posting early in this week. That's quiet a sportsman-like gesture. I was a little afraid that the way how secretive people are about tactics and scores might become a problem. There were already people suggesting to enforce posting of early scores via rules. But I'd rather like to see our users do so without such rules. Also the more rules the more bearucracy-like this event becomes. Afterall it is supossed to be for fun only, that's why we don't even have to proofe our scores.

So please everyone, continue to submit scores and let us wittness your steady progress. :)

I have instrcuted my team last week to only post their first score and then post at the latest moment, unless they had some amazing score (very unlikely, hehe) ... but I had already thought of this being silly, stupid and takes a lot of the fun fon the competition. I was already going to instruct them to not do this anymore, even if it's somehow a good strategy.

I'd say "I told you so", but it wouldn't bring much satisfaction since I'm stuck playing the damn thing too.
