Argh, five hours straight of me juggling bells. I can't hear the level 1 music anymore.

I won't post my score for now....

I just wanted to say that level 4 is PURE MADNESS. My shields don't last more than 15 seconds, and that mid-boss is pure evil.. I've managed to one-life up to him, and then proceed to lose FOUR lives, and beat it without ANY ARMS OR HOSPITALS left. ARGH! At least the boss isn't very hard.

ED-057 - Oldschoolers - 1,304,400 - stage 4 - (MAME)

Boo. Who voted for this? Explain yourselves. :)

BTW, is there a lot of slowdown in this or is it just my PC / MAME settings?

After this I'll try to update only once a day, but I have another question anyways -_^

The score: Arvandor - Team Fremont - 1,549,720 - 4 - MAME32 0.106

The question: Is there anyway to set up autofire in MAME32? I'm getting tendonitis from damn button spam. If not, I'll have to try and get wolfmame or mameplus or something on here.

not slowdown, but sometimes I get some frames skipped. It doesn't happen to often, and it's always at the same spots, so it doesn't annoy me too much.

I am enjoying the game a lot.

The best strategy so far seems to use the first bells to power up your ship. A couple of speed-ups, a couple of white bells for power ups, and a green for the option. Then keep the chain with yellow bells, as they grow in value while you keep getting them.

Nope, need MamePlus or WolfMamePlus. I downloaded the 106 of wolfmame plus here: http://wolfmame.marpirc.net/wolfmameplus-0106.exe

I like mame 106 as its the last to do normal scanlines...every version since then has some crappy antialiased scanline plugin thingy.

On page 3 of the this thread, Twiddle gave instructions to turn it on and set delay to 3. Don't forget to set the extends each time when starting mame.

Level 4 is psycho. Reminds me visually of one of the later levels in Gunbird 2 (1-5, I think).

completely. The raise in the difficulty from level 3 to level 4 is insane.

I haven't been able to recreate my earlier masterpiece run that resulted in MAME's crash because I was just too damn good, so this is going to have to do for tonight.

Since I couldn't change the extend settings, I turned the default lives down to 1 in order to compensate. I guess I can turn it back up to 3.

3M, 1 life up to stage 5 boss my first run, not quite an ALL... yet. :) No extends >: O

This extend garbage is just going to make it even easier to 1CC by suiciding at the right places to reduce rank. Plus a potential of 57,300x4 extra per life from the cloud that comes out (depends on what exactly you want to do with the bells...)

You bastard. >_<
How the heck do you do it?
I'm only just short of 3mil at the stage4 boss. Too many mistakes in early stages. :/

Overly conservative play I guess? :D I'm learning it now though, so I'll see where I get. 1.6M+ is possible on the first stage. :) (I haven't done it myself yet, I just ran numbers)

Nice job on the ALL, DMC.

Thanks, SiKrAiKeN.
1.6mil+ at the first stage?! That would be something.

What does the the "bells counter" besides the screen do, anyway?

Why change them? We are allowing the extends that come by default on the Saturn.

Because folks on here were still bickering about it at the time when I read the thread. I didn't read it again until much later in the evening. Like I said, I'll switch it back up to 3 (it was kinda nice though instantly bringing up the continue screen if I made a stupid mistake in stage 1).

Just out of curiosity, what charge type are you guys using? I've been relying on Bakudan since it can target both air and ground targets, plus it comes out the rear of the ship, so it's great for handling those fucking-annoying cats in stage 4.

This level is so bleeding annoying.
