Edge - 674'350 - 1-4 - MAME - Arcade Difficulty

I think the table should be split into Arcade and Normal Difficulty scores. Because the difficulty level does make a noticable difference. The MAME default scores are on Arcade Difficulty. Just a suggestion though. :)

Finally a decent score. This game is ridonkulous. It's incredibly frustrating, and yet somehow extremely addictive.

[Outdated, ignore] unsane - 487,400 - 1-4 - Mame Default

Bah another kemical hiscore thread, slacker! ;)

WHAT! Holy fucking shit! Player one is a sick joke.

P2 is like a whole new game. You can point blank stuff before it fires at you, and *gasp* dodge boss bullet patterns. I can easily see myself no-missing stages 1-3 whereas before i'd only even cleared stage 3 once.

And all this time i thought i just sucked at shmups.

Suffice to say i quickly massacred my hard-fought player 1 record like it was nothing:

Holy shit! I might actually have a shot at 1st place on this beast of a game:

unsane - 1,174,120 - 1-6 - Mame Default

No miss until 75% of the way through 1-5; no bomb until stage 4 boss. After my first death i basically completely fucked up. I managed to get the 5th boss but got no bonus points and died in 5 seconds in stage 6.

Stage 4 cleared at 1,007,300 - the max is approximately 1,062,000.

That was nerve-wracking! Came at the end of a 7 hour Raiden session - my thumbs hurt lol.

Also added pce / tg16, this is the version I've been playing lately, it's a good port.

There's two different PCE/TG-16 versions, so you'll have to make two tables for them.

Raiden (HuCard) and Super Raiden (SCD)

They're pretty different, Super Raiden has two extra stages but is overall easier than the card.

Super Raiden:
PlasmaBlooD - 2,977,100 - 1-10

Raiden Hucard:
PlasmaBlooD - 3,781,500 - 2-5

old scores but i have replays from this runs.Hucardversion(8 Stages)is mor difficult as the 8 Stages from Super Raiden ,but Stage 9 and 10 from Super raiden are harder as the last Stage of the Hucardversion.

This highscore/thread is a joke! it should be littered with 1-8 scores up to multiple looped scores, esspecially for a game that literally 20years old.

Feel free to post yours. ;) I'm not surprised there's so few scores, this game is a bitch - most ppl here don't seem to like it at all. I love it because i spent all my teenage years playing the Raiden series - it's my bread and butter. It was my shmup introduction. :D

Is there a comprehensive site that lists shmup WRs? The only good site i know of for records is MARP, but it's not world records.

http://www.aiva.emuita.it lists all Gamest & Arcadia records 99% of which are the world record anyway. The site has frequent tech problems tho and might be offline atm.

the site might be offline forever. just to let you know...
if youre looking for Shmup WR scores check this topic:
http://cowboy.ikaruga.co.uk/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=147
Its nowhere near as good as AIVA was but at least it lists the most important shmups and is updated.
