Shikigami no Shiro 3 (PC and Arcade)

Post by Icarus »

NOTE: This thread is no longer being updated. If there is no new thread created and you wish to make one, just copy-paste and notify a mod to lock this one down.

Shikigami no Shiro returns! Throwing up a preliminary table for the time being, will pretty it up eventually. Also holding one combined table for now, at least until we get more players in and there's a call for split character-specific and other tables.

So, PC settings. DEFAULT difficulty, DEFAULT lives, ARCADE MODE (NOT Directors Mode). Screen modes, background music, voices and Demo ON/OFF you are free to chop and change to your pleasure. Ditto for AC players. Other ports (if and when they arrive) are also welcome.

Submit all scores with the following formats for ease of updating:

Code: Select all

SCORE - PLAYER NAME - STAGE REACHED - CHARACTER+TYPE - [8x ACTION]
So, an example score post will look like this:
Icarus wrote:1,601,881,900 - Icarus - Stage 3-1 - Kuga1 - 9159
Tables will be extended as more players come into the fray, so don't worry about getting purged.
Good luck, and get those scores in!

And yes, my score sucks. ^_-

I have a current 1.8bil, stage3-1 boss score, but don't have exact numbers handy atm. Will play more and post improved records after this week's tournament is over. Good luck!

Whoa, where can you buy the PC version? Does it require directx 9.0C (like the Raiden 3)?

Grab it from himeyashop.com, Play Asia, perhaps other places as well. And yes, it requires DX9.0c, as well as other things.
There's a bit of discussion going on for the game in my site updates thread in the main forum, as well as a quickie replay for my currently posted score.

2,803,007,930 - toby - Stage 4-2 - Kuga2 - 16935

Only played this round to see the scoreboard to post here, but turned out pretty good ;)
First time I've gotten past 3-2.
Is it ok to suicide at the bosses? Or do you lose alot on the stage-bonus?

I have no idea if dying at the bosses affects stage bonus. Although, you could probably negate the stage bonus by dying, then using the bomb gained in a HT-MAX milking spree. With the addition of the HT-MAX system, there's quite a large change in strategy from Shikigami 2 and 3, so I need to sit down and do some serious research in the game to see how it affects the game system. ^_-

Which is an excuse to play the game lots over the coming weeks...

Stage bonus is affected only by time and x8 collection, unlike the earlier incarnations. They didn't make the extend rate more frequent than SnS1 for nothing.

you're right, so I guess it only affects the coins collected from the boss, so suiciding on the last pattern should be best.

small improvement,

1,673,696,740 - Twiddle - 4-1 - Emilio2 - 6773

Why does it have to be the play with a shitty stage 1 score?

kuga score, for if/when the boards get split up by character:

That 4th boss is an asshole, but the game is actually pretty damn fun.

The way the board looks now, it's more of a Kuga-centric board than an all-in-one board. ^_-
Keep the scores coming guys. If there's enough call for split character-centric tables then I'll pop up some more.

This game is just pure, unadulterated awesome.

2,104,251,640 - Icarus - Stage 3-1 - Kuga1 - 16,241

Image

Not doing too badly for a Kuga1 user. ^_-

Slowly getting the hang of suiciding and using HT-MAX in paticular areas. Still need to work on learning the bosses, especially the second and last forms of the stage3-1 boss.

Replay verified.

For the 2nd last form just sit on the side of the screen and make sure you're high enough up the screen that you can crawl down with the bullets when the laser pins you to the edge. You can sit there and milk him for a bit if you want.

I have more problems with the 2-2 boss than anything else for some reason. And 3-2 I guess. Still bombing the crap out of that one.

Thanks for the tip. ^_^

Its the bit with the snake on the stage2-1 boss that usually catches me out. Right now I'm trying to just hi-tension Shot it to death (preferably without the use of a HT-MAX), which sort of works, but the snake usually catches me at least once.

I'm sure there's a way to get it to wrap around you so it can't touch you, but so it gives you tension-up. Looking into it.

Just got the game in yesterday and damn is it nice! Stage one performance was terrible on this run:

2,038,793,770 - NRS - Stage 3-2 - Reika1 - 12126

Image

Quick things I have to say about this game:
1. Stage 2 is beautiful.
2. Stage 3 is very fun.
3. This is a hell of a lot better than Dragon Blaze.

Goodness. Stage 4 is giving me all kinds of trouble. Ran in to a little bugger flying around in all those bullets to end this run.

We should have a Shiki 3 thread in Shmups Chat for this kind of thing.

Sounds like one of your axes (usually Z axis) is out of whack. You can try messing with control panel -> game controllers -> properties and see if you can't figure out what's moving the cursor. Just sounds like the wrong thing is mapped to up/down. If you can make it to options -> key config then you could change it. :P

You might be using an outdated version of DirectInput, something that comes with DirectX.
Go here and grab the 50-odd MB redistributable DirectX installer and install it. In the unlikely event that your pad/stick needs drivers, make sure you have the latest versions of the drivers for your controllers.

Christ doing a skydive, how in the heck are you supposed to score through stage3-2? Stuff goes flying past so quickly Kuga's Shikigami is unable to keep up. -_-;;

Kim would do great in 3-2 as well, with the twin lightsabers of death.
It seems like the lowest scoring stage for Kuga, including the unmilkable boss. -_-;;

Slowly clawing my way through the game.

2,805,194,160 - Icarus - Stage 3-2 - Kuga1 - 22,447

The 3-1 boss is no longer a problem now, but the stage still gives me a problem if I forget to switch on the lights. Died about ten seconds into 3-2, doing exactly that. >_<
