This game isn't as bad as I first thought, but I still say it sucks. But recapturing my Parsec47 throne has proven to be too frustrating, so...

Davey - Super Buffet S. T. - 622,900 - 11

I guess I should read up on the secrets and whatnot.

EDIT:
Davey - Super Buffet S. T. - 653,000 - 11

Can't get 50k bonus. Can't destroy all the green arrows, either. Must get faster... but how? Induce a seizure?

...but The Coop's kicking ass. Way to go! :o

Has anyone without autofire managed to get the 50K bonus?

I'm absolutely pathetic when it comes to button-mashing. I'll be happy if I can double this score by week's end.

I can't compare, but the autorate on the XBOX port is painfully slow, imo.

Tell me about it. I've seen the fossil three times, and even got the head to show up twice. But there was an insane amount of enemies and bullets on the screen making it impossible to stay in place long enough to blow it up.

Well, got a bit further and higher...

Come fellow old-schoolers, I'm expecting better scores from you. This is your week after all!

The game is really pattern-based so it's somehow forgivable gameplay-wise. I did a good run:

Favorite death so far: when fighting a group of the diamond-shaped exploding things, I lead them around and destroy all but the last one (which by this time is in my face), but when I shoot the last one, I find that there was another one hiding DIRECTLY behind it, making it impossible to see until the one it was behind dies! Since I have no room to move, the newly-revealed bugger kills me instantly! This happened to me TWO runs in a ROW!

Arrrggghhhh...

Well, I did manage to improve my score a bit again...though without autofire I don't think I'll have much chance of ever getting to the last extend unless I get lucky with the "?" panels, and even then I have my doubts.

BulletMagnet - Team Loser - 487,900 - 9

This is likely my last attempt for the week.

Pure dumb luck is how I got the bonus. Those weird and large "V"-like ships that drop off smaller "V"-like ships were coming up from the lower right side of the screen (moving to the left), just as the fossil in question started to show up. I darted over to the right where the hidden bonus was, sank slowly back as I point blanked it which kept all the smaller ships off my ass, and it blew up just before it got completely under my ship where the lasers couldn't hit it anymore. Area 15 was surprisingly short, and the new enemy patterns for the ships from stage 1 were pretty easy to lure around. Then Area 16 came along and reminded me that the game didn't like me getting this far

I am posting just to let my teammates know that I am playing the game at home, but I always forget to note down my score and bring it to my work to post it, as my home internetion connection isn't working properly.

I think I'll do a Kiken and post my stunning score 15 minutes before the deadline :)

First I died at the same time as the boss of this area (I hate it when that happens). I still had two lives left, though. Unfortunately I had to just discard them, as a phone call ended that otherwise perfectly good run.

Might as well post my modest gain before the next update:

professor ganson - Super Buffet S. T. - 268,300 - 5 (epsilon) - XBOX

I was happy finally to get past delta. That level was, for some reason, especially difficult for me, and it wasn't always the same-- sometimes it seemed like a completely different course. :?
