STGT 2k6- Week #3 Star Force
My mistake. I must have been tired when I posted that. The correct entry should be:CIT wrote:DarkWolf7 wrote:DarkWolf7 - Feka USA - 895,350 - 13 (Ν) - MAME
I don't mean to doubt your honesty in posting scores, BUT this score is not possible in Star Force as the game only awards points by the straight 100s.
Every score in Starforce has to end with two zeros.

Bit of improvement...
BulletMagnet - Team Loser - 394,100 - 8
A few questions...
1) Can anyone else without autofire successfully pull off the "midboss bonus?" Maybe I'm just too slow, but manually I just can't tap that fast between the time the core flashes and the piece coming in from the back kills me...
2) Is there any factor other than utter randomness that determines whether a wave consists of one enemy or 30?
3) Think they could have crammed any more point-blank deaths into this thing?

That's my progress so far:
Edge - Team Germany - 577'700 - 8 (MAME)
If it only supports auto fire with a delay of 1, then it isn't allowed to use. The Auto fire, not the emu offcourse.

I don't know if you can alternate the auto fire delay on those...Davey wrote: Please forgive my ignorance, but if we're using regular, vanilla, command-line MAME, is autofire a non-issue? I don't want to cheat, but I don't see the option screenshot that Edge shows (with the autofire setting).

How on earth did you score that much that early in the game? I had a score of 1.2 million at stage 12, but I had the autofire rate set to 1.DarkWolf7 wrote: DarkWolf7 - Feka USA - 1,779,200 - 11 (Λ) - MAME
SiKrAiKeN: While I don't think everyone here -is- a Ninja Turtle, I DO believe everyone here has the potential to be a Ninja Turtle. No doubt.
i swear to fuck this game gets harder as I play
it doesn't help that the game loves throwing waves that are impossible to kill what with all the scenery lying around
ps do you know how much i love random elements that directly impact your survival

Fuck, fuck, fuck! I just came THIS close to getting Cleopatra!
If you fly up the screen and lure them in the other direction that usually gives you more space again to kill them safely. Just don't shoot them when they're way down at the bottom or you'll get hit for sure.Herr Schatten wrote:It seems like my worst enemies are the ones that split into 4 rocks when destroyed.

Interesting. First I've heard of it. So after some googling it seems there are a few different bonuses you can get. I didn't know about any of them during this run. But I'll be damned if I'll ever destroy enough of those 2 green arrow columns to get the bonuses - can't shoot quick enough.Rob wrote:Someone's not been reading the 1 million point bonus hubbub. Cleopatra bonus.
I got to the level where the enemies don't shoot and are very close together - and I friggin ran into one of them losing my last life.
I actually like this game. It's just damned hard.

Feedback will set you free.

For other prizes and more detailed infos see this thread: STGT 2k6 PrizesSuper Laydock wrote: And this weeks prize is a complete copy of Blazing Lazers for the Turbo Grafx 16. In other words the western version of Pc-Engine's GunHed.
It is, I believe, the version that was bundled with a system. There's another "version" out there with different packaging I believe so I include a picture of the meant game (pic was taken from someone's ebay auction as I still do not have a new well working digital camera ).
Good luck to everyone. And specialthanks to the prize offerers.

I echo that sentiment...if certain enemy formations appear at certain spots you're all but doomed...not to mention, of course, the "?" extends...Twiddle wrote:ps do you know how much i love random elements that directly impact your survival
That said, another minor improvement...

I realize, on reflection, that a number of our strongest players are not in the US and will have little use for a US PS2 game. I'm working on a solution to this problem (i.e. I'm thinking of adding a further prize option).Edge wrote:Edge - Team Germany - 963'400 - 11 (MAME)
