Believe it or not, Webnetic, the guys that made trash games on the cheap are back, and its worse as always.
After making constant "Button Click" games, "Factory" games, a "Run" game and Educational games, anyone would think "These guys are done for", but this time they're back and OH GOD! A fucking Webnetic shooter!

As a reviewer, I always want to give everyone a chance because a good shmup could be a difference in the sea of shit that some of us end up submerging in, but in Webnetic's case, their "Do on the cheap" mentality can have only one possible outcome for the game: Serious, serious disaster.

Your space nightmare has only just begun.

Space Defend's gameplay is what in faraway nightmares could be a clone of Atari's Asteroids. There's only two functions for the ship: Fire and Thruster. Unlike Xitilon's Space Scavengers where they had power ups and even a store for upgrades, Space Defend is a mindless asteroid blasting game where the overall objective is, yeah, you've guess it, get the Platinum after racking up a total of 190 asteroids throughout constant gameplays. I said constant gameplays since due to bad programming you'll be crashing with an asteroid. ¿How?, To explain you how, think about a large asteroid popping right in front of you after you destroyed the previous one. Its not the "Oh, I crashed with it because I was busy with the last one", no. It's more of "Boom! You've destroyed the asteroid then "Pop!" a big rock appears directly in front of your ship". Since the screen "warps" your bullets from one side to reappear on the opposite, you can even get killed by your own bullets. You can die 5 times before the game ends and that's pretty much about it.

In terms of graphics, it looks far better than their atrocious "Button Click" games as the objects have detailing and look like illustrations rather than Flash-like drawings. Since there's little effort in this game, the whole thing is in the dark reddish purple void of space. The music is this pseudo-suspense electronic garbage that loops forever until you close the game.

Yang's sadness sum's up the whole thing.

While the idea of making a shmup sounds interesting, Webnetic's laziness is the main defect that makes the whole thing to collapse. Zero strategy, mindless shooting and even bugs are the downfall of this game, sending it to the oblivion of gaming.
