Yeah, more Atari stuff for ya, Today's review: Cosmic Corridor by ZiMAG.
Again, don't expect me to write a whole scroll of stuff, Atari games doesn't have too much to say about.

Stop calling those "Toyplanes" those are aliens, you visionless pilot!

Cosmic Corridor is a vertical scrolling shooter. Unlike the traditional vertical shooting, Cosmic Corridor puts your ship on the top of the screen rather than the bottom, breaking with the mentioned tradition of any other shmup. Like in Vanguard, you can shoot in any of the basic four directions: Up, Down, Left and Right. Although you'll have to move your ship to scroll up for vertically aim to the top of the screen, yeah, you can move either up or down in this bottomless corridor which looks like a cavern with all those irregular formations on the sides. The only instances of challenge you'll find will be the bouncing bullets and the enemies that might appear behind you to ambush you. You can win an extra life once you've reach 1,000 points.

The game's four variations are actually difficulty levels, being Game 1 the Easy difficulty and Game 4 the Hardest of all the modes, all of them are 1 player only games.

Since we're talking about a shmup made by a small business, they don't have the quality of Atari or Activision in audiovisual terms, so we're always scrolling down in our ship, the Laser Cannon which looks more like an F1 race car. Your enemies have almost unrecognizeable shapes like explosions, claws and "wanna look like a plane" things. There's a few recognizeable shapes like the humanoid robots, and all of them come in small and large sizes. Like most bad Atari games, the sounds are just headache inducing.

In the end, Cosmic Corridor is another addition to the bunch of trash Atari games that plagued the console during 1983, which this makes me think those were the real reason of Atari's death and the almost extinction of gaming: Too much bad games which only served to put a nail on a coffin with Atari's name on it.
Fan of Transformers, Shmups and Anime-styled Girls. You're teamed up with the right pilot!
