I promise I'll put some time into this soon spadgy. For the past month I've only been playing games called Street Fighter IV so poor old Raiden IV hasn't had a look-in.

yeah.... I haven't even thought about raiden 4 after SF4, before also now that I think about it.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I'd like somebody else to confirm this - combined with my shitty audio set-up and heathen's ears, I don't trust my judgement on this one 100%.

Street Fighter IV? Is Mike Tyson in it?

Incidentally this patch also fixed the glitch where the last achievement would not unlock "Mirakules" or something, which involved getting the little demon guys to appear at some point. One of the top Raiden players on the leaderboards was able to get it, so it's definitely possible now:

Nice update.

The last secret achievement is Miclus. That's the little blue guy's name.

Boss Rush Mode still requires completing the entire thing without continuing to get the achievement, guess he's sticking by that one.

Yeah you also have to complete the second loop in boss rush for the achievement. The reason why I will never get it :(

So for the Miclus achievement: Collect all Micluses I suppose. In Arcade mode or 360 mode or both?

Yeah but how do you get them to appear?

Also, there's a pretty good video on NicoNico on how to get through both loops of boss rush. Doesn't seem crazy hard if you bomb in the right places.

I have posted the Miclus locations in 360 mode on page 16 of this thread.

yeah the audio issue is cleared up now. it would have only mattered if you had it hooked up via stereo ect.... mono would have been a non issue for you.

Excellent! I'm planning to put all of tomorrow evening into this one. In the meantime, I'll set up a high score board for this game on the forum. I'll link from here once it's all done.

Right - the Raiden IV hi-score thread is up.

I know it's kind of redundant as we have the one through XBL, but it's nice to have something on the forum, at least so we can have a bit of a scoring community and show off to the other forum members! Active hi-score threads are great for motivating your playing.

Two things. Those of you who I have as XBL friends - shall I add your scores from XBL, or do you, like me (for now!), have a higher one from offline play?

Second, I'm going to make a list of Raiden IV players' XBL GamerTag names under the scoreboard. Add yours there - and kemical and antares - are you OK with me putting yours on the list? Just so we can all be on a 'friends' leaderboard on the game.

Yeah, you can add my scores or gamertag wherever you want :)

I've been playing almost only world rankings mode so these are my hiscores.

yeah that is a cool idea, I'm fine with adding my gamertag and score, I think my highest ones are on the WR boards but I've been playing offline mode to practice starting on later stages

Feel free to add my details up, even if my scores are quite pathetic at the moment.

Me again!

Anybody played score attack? If so - any idea what's going on when your ship constantly shimmers and flashes (and I don't mean when you've held of from firing and charged a 'super' missile shot)?

Only rational thing I can think of is that it indicates you're ahead of your previous best at that stage.

Anyway - score attack level 1-1 is a lot of fun, and it's really nice if you haven't got time to hit the full game.

My best so far for 1-1 is 1,85X,XXX. [EDIT: I meant 2.85 million! What a fool!]

How are you all doing on 1-1?

My 1-1 score is somewhere around 2.6M range, though it's not score attack, it's recorded on a normal run.

I'm an idiot - I mean 2.85 million! Not 1.85! I can hit 2.8 regularly now, but usually 2.81 and not 2.85

Right - The more I place this game the more I'm noticing the thing (across various single-play game modes) where the ship suddenly constantly shimmers a kind of gold colour. Again, I don't mean when the ship is ready to dispatch a charged missile silo. Any ideas?

Also - update to the high-score thread done today.

And if you haven't done so yet - please submit your score! There's plenty of spaces (especially in Double Play)!

so what is everyones weapon of choice on here?

i was firmly in the vulcan camp but recently ive been busting up my high scores by using the laser, (twinned with the homing missle or the little ships on lvls 3 and 4 are such a pain in the arse)

So get yourself over to the Raiden IV high-score thread this instance! (Have I pimped it enough yet?:) )

On the subject of weapon of choice, I'm a Vulcan purist on Solo myself, apart from the level four boss, where I whip out Laser. Straight Missile spread for most of what I can play through on a credit so far too, except for Homing Missiles for the second half of level three and some of level four.

Used to be the same for Double Play too, but now I go with Vulcan and straight spread on P1, with Laser and homing on P2.

I use Vulcan during the levels and Laser for the bosses.
For the secondary weapon I only use the M Missiles.

are you guys heavily using the charged missiles thing for extra points on large enemies? (noticed the 1-1 scores)

I tend to use vulcan + M the most..
I can't seem to get past the 1-3 boss anymore, keep making lots of stupid mistakes, I'll have to try the laser on that one.
---
*Edit*
actually I seem to average 2 - 2.8m on 1-1 now.. I keep only getting 109 shot down though (98.1%) can't figure out what I'm missing.
I just finally got to 1-4 again thanks to blue laser.
