Post by m.sniffles.esq »

Like the topic sez

Sorry to make a new topic, but the others were specifically about the US versions, while these are JP only (at least for now)

“A separate collection titled Psikyo Shooting Collection is also in development for PlayStation 5, which includes all 12 titles from both collections.”

Shitty Connection jokes aside, this is a nice piece of news. I’m not hoping for much, but the part of me that’s prone to disappointment thinks the renewed attention / new sales opportunity might be an occasion for patches and improvements to existing versions. They must have sold OK for CC to be returning to these collections.

If the lag is acceptable, I’ll definitely pick these up.

Man. They announced this a long time ago. Hopefully they come woth some decent quality of life improvements like save states and not just one slot like Cotton Saturn Tribute.

This collection is also coming digitally to the Xbox One/Series consoles on the same dates as the PS4 versions.

When I sort PSN by "release date: newest first", I now see Strikers 1945, Sol Divide, and Dragon Blaze right up top at $9.99US each.

Seems Limited Run is doing their own version of these.

Yeah, those look identical to the JP releases, cover art and all. They're pretty solid collections, but the lack of any save states deflates their value tremendously.

I know these are PlayStation releases, but did the Switch versions ever get their performance issues addressed?

Yeah, is there any indication there are changes from the Japanese ones? Improved lag, save states, etc?

I asked and got radio silence so I'm assuming no changes from the Japanese releases.

They are also cheaper to import and already available so no reason to really order the LRG ones.

Will TATE stay or go?
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

These CC versions are pretty damn solid though, despite some of the early Psikyo collections having poor performance. I don't think there's a better version of Dragon Blaze on console than this PS4 release.

LRG also doesn't do any coding work, so any features will be intact. The days of seeing western releases rip out Tate options are happily long gone.

I asked Clear River Games if all the patches would be on the disc and also got no response.

Actually, I just got a response:

"To answer your inquiry, the release of the game collection on PS4 will contain all the patches and updates that the Japanese release had last year. However, it is not technically the exact same version as the Japanese release due to some localization changes and adjustments made for the Western market. Rest assured that you will still be able to enjoy all the updated content and features that were included in the Japanese release.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!"
