Sonic Wings Special did not recieve a localized release here in the US however there was a european localization that was released yet that version is inferior as it had things removed in it like cutscences dialogue and the strangest change of them all was removing the memory card funcionality and thus removed the ability to save which escensially means that you cant save high scores or be able to unlock the extra ships or characters as there would be no way to save game data or load it I find that to e such a strange change to do for any kind of localization

There exists another version of Sonic Wings Special on PS1 called SONIC WINGS SPECIAL [ARCADE HITS MAJOR WAVE SERIES] however that version appears to be identical to the japanese original version aside from having different artwork the European version strangley says arcade hits on the title screen of the game but is not based on that version
