[Solved] Looking for an old top-down shooter

Post by garbanzox »

Probably 16-bit, or maybe arcade
Top-down / overhead / isometric
Multidirectional run 'n' gun
Sci-fi theme, dark graphics (blues and grays)
Two continuous shooting modes - straight shot or spread shot
Shoot in the direction you're running, or hold a button to keep aiming in the same direction while you run around

First level starts at the bottom of the screen, you go to the right and up to shoot up a panel which opens a door to the rest of the level.
Robots and laser turrets shortly after. Turrets are in groups of 4 in a diamond shape, and they don't shoot until they see you.

Hopefully someone knows, it's driving me nuts!

Is it Outzone or Fixeight?

If not, is there anything else you can remember about the weapons you have? Are there bombs? Are there multiple characters?

Much slower pace than Outzone or Fixeight.

I don't remember there being weapon powerups, bombs, or multiple characters. It's not very shmup-like in that regard.

It doesn't scroll. It has rooms and doors.

Aye...it's playable on Switch with the SNES games you get when you sub to the online service. Nice game.
