It still looks budget* but hey. I will do my best to make a score thread when the game comes out and I don't even watch this fuggin' anime.

Most likely the attack mentioned in Gematsu's article.
As you build up the D Gauge (Dragon Gauge), you will be able to transform into a dragon and wipe out enemies with "Choro-gon Breath."
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

The new screenshots look better, but I'm going to wait to see it in action.

Look at all those lazy bullets.

At 19 seconds in it looks like Tooru (center screen) has an attack resembling the Hug Launcher from Night Raid.

It looks just as empty as always, so I'm not really expecting any big changes despite it saying it's work in progress. Pretty disappointing, it still looks so flat and boring. The BG is so low contrast and everything just seems to have no cohesion at all, in addition to being very slow and kind of just lifeless looking. It even kinda looks like a dozen assets from a dozen games smashed into one product...

Maybe we get lucky and this is baby difficulty and there's some way to make it fun.

That outdoor stage looks like they were trying to clone Breath of the Wild in the cheapest possible way and the comparison doesn't do it any favors.

This game makes Deathsmiles II look like a masterpiece of 3D graphics lol. Actually DSII is underrated in that department IMO. It has quite a lot of detail and charm in the designs despite the rough edges.

The Goblins. They're just .. standing there. In mid-air. And sliding around. What the hell is happening here?

They did my Choragons dirty.

The camera POV in relation to the background reminds me a lot of Sky Stage. They seem to like to have the camera just kind of randomly meandering around all the time with stage geometry constantly a bit off kilter. I guess they're going for sort of a them park roller coaster effect. It ends up feeling like the gameplay and background are very disconnected.

IMO it's better to limit the camera movement during gameplay and save that for transitions during stage or boss intros. Basically any time there is less happening on screen. Take a look at Ikaruga for example.

Another side effect is you can never really use stage geometry as an indication of where you should position your ship, like you would in a 2D shmup, if everything is constantly rotating around.

Didn't they said about you get different endings based on scores you get in the end? What a nice way to encourage scoring, one of the endings may have beach/bath house episode ending.

Looks like they're saying this is due out on March 24th of this year, based on the official site. The price is also high, with even the digital version costing around $40 US, likely just because it has an anime license tie-in.

Not only that, but their Limited Edition is cheap, at least, even though there's not much to it, besides a guidebook and a Weiss Schwarz card.

I do admittedly appreciate how defeated enemies (even the boss!) go flying off the screen with a cartoonish smoke trail behind them - in silly games you should be able to dispatch your foes in appropriately silly ways - but those voices and sound effects are an outright assault on the ears.

Gameplay-wise this looks more fun than I'd initially thought but those sound effects are of the most high annoyance

Yeah, I mean this as a pseudo-compliment, but when I saw that crow boss fly off like that, I thought "at least they are committing to the gag."

For recent contrast, Sol Cresta (somehow) got a 33

So it's either truly garbage or some nutty misunderstood diamond in the rough...
