This may be controversial, but I don't think I'll ever look down at anyone who finishes the SA-1 patch with the use of the Konami Code on Arcade difficulty. Otherwise, most of the game is pretty much an impossible recovery.
That was insane. I can't believe I actually finished it on one credit even if I used the code.

It’s tough...very tough, even stocking upon lives through the bonus stages. What a transformation the SA 1 hack has made, superb.
