Was wondering what the differences are between regions of Darius Gaiden (US/EU/JP), specifically the F3 System PCBs. Is it just translation or are there gameplay differences?
I'm on the hunt for a PCB so just want to make sure I don't buy a "bad" version!
Darius Gaiden Arcade Region Differences?
Re: Darius Gaiden Arcade Region Differences?
There's none I've noticed. As a general trend, region differences became smaller or non-existent in arcade games as DIP switches started getting phased out and there was a move towards modular cartridges with standardized hardware over dedicated per-game PCBs. Taito F3 games are very much in this mold. Or perhaps the trend had more to do with the death of arcades outside Japan and developers feeling like their was no point in pandering to overseas audiences with assumptions about regional player preferences anymore.
Of course, that's just an opinion.
