Shmups with bullet time?

Post by endali »

Are there any other shmups with bullet time mechanics like Espgaluda? Espgaluda is the fucking best

Omega Fighter has slo-mo, but its implementation isn't much like Espgaluda's.

Trouble Witches has a "slow down circle" that can be deployed frequently. Objects outside the circle travel at full speed. This can lead to some nasty overlapping patterns so use it wisely!

You want Leiria -Stargazer-. Literally Espagluda.

EDIT: Sine Mora has a slowdown powerup but it's kind of the opposite from Espgaluda in that using it ruins your score.

Hellsinker has a "suppression field" of sorts that slows down bullets when they're near your character.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Debris Infinity is a relatively recent twin-stick style shmup with a time slowdown ability you can use to make tight dodges.

Leiria Stargazer is great and is essentially an Espgaluda clone, although it's got enough style of its own and some minor mechanic improvements to Espgaluda that it stands proudly on its on as a solid game and not as a mere clone. Great soundtrack too.
