I haven't played many either, but Time Pilot is pretty sweet. Didn't get into it until recently when I was trying to beat a friend's score on Xbox Live. Fun stuff, game gets pretty intense.

Too much milking for parachutes in the original Time Pilot to be fun to play for score, but I love the concept. I'm a big fan of how effortlessly it reproduces the whole "dog fighting" feel in 2D.

Always been a fan of Time Pilot, and that's probably still my favorite, even though I'm terrible at it. But the time-traveling plane concept was always cool to me, and I enjoyed the way the game plays.

Got a weird graphical glitch in mame while playing ark area- happens on level 16, 23 and the ending:

Thunder Force II was pretty good imo.
Horizontal segments give a nice break from the overhead segments without overstaying their welcome too much.
X68000 version is a must but the Genesis port wasn't too terrible either. Only thing that really bothered me were the slight performance problems.
They don't make it unplayable but just slightly less enjoyable

Always wished they'd taken the opportunity to port X68k TFII on the first Saturn Gold Pack. Would've given GP1 the selling point it lacks opposite GP2.
